Reminds me of the actor, who paints a bit and was a former football player.
Who after a turbulent start to his footballing career (which even included a short stint at the rust bucket) under the right management, blossomed into a superstar.
Morrison would seem angelic in comparison to the much talented but the then/still precocious Cantona.

One thing is for sure. If he is seen to be toxic to the squad at anytime, CWAK will soon have him removed. So the responsibility will be on his shoulders to prove himself.

Wow. I have to confess that I didn’t realise how much of a nutter Cantona was. Just read his wiki page and there’s loads on there I didn’t know about.

I think Ravel, could be the most inspired signing of Wilders tenure in Management, if it pays off and he finds his feet in our system, we could have a real super star player, which will have huge resale value and be great for once for us to be in a position where we are offered silly money for a player, that said if he plays that well I will hope we keep him unless stupid money comes in.

I bet every team who has signed him has thought this.

No truer word spoken, QPR thought wow we are getting a super star on load.... Wait nope send him back!!

I wonder if he might be one of those case were his potential never gets fulfilled, I remember watching MOTOGP and the MOTO3 race when Romano Fenati took his first Victory at Jerez and I thought this will be the new Valentino Rossi, but since then he as rarely lived up to the talent he clearly has and then of course pulled the break leaver of Manzi and the world got to know his name but in the wrong context and again he as been given another chance but so far again looks like out side influence just keeps him from having his head in the right place to show his true talent.

hopefully Chris can work some magic and make sure we see the best of Morrison :)

Has a foot injury and won’t play tomorrow apparently. Sorry if that’s already been posted. Suspect we’ll want to see him playing before any deal is offered.

Fleetwood on loan, CW saying thanks but no thanks. KM being blamed for bringing him back during the ownership hearing. Hope that helps.
He's still here ,don't remember wilder saying anything like that and who blamed McCabe for bringing him back ? You ?

Nowt like Ched.

More like Madine.

Ched hadn't played football for years, and then came back after a few appearances in league one, plus he had a glass ankle that needed an operation.

Madine just a bit of a nobhead by most accounts, though had been in the press less lately. Having a meh season previous to joining, and an average season before that, though he went up.

Madine worked out ok, did a job, couple of goals and managed to keep the nobhead locked up.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Marlon King yet (unless they have and i've missed it), he seems to be the closest approximation to Morrison in terms of their menace to society, rather than just being a nob.

I might be wrong but wasn't Mcgoldrick on trial at first ?
That one didn't turn out bad if he was.
Missing my point entirely, I'm not saying he's not worth an inexpensive gamble but like Ched he has big expectations on his shoulders. DM didn't and not much was expected by the fans from him,but as we all know he went on to be a star signing.

Dont see how ravel is even a bit of a gamble he'll probs sign a one year contract and if he peforms to his hype will be worth millions.

Same as didsy last year

He’s obviously a gamble because hardly any clubs will now go near him, no club will waste money offering him even a 1 year contract.
Virtually everyone in the game has given up on him and think he ‘s finished.
However as already said Wilder has brilliant man management and has the Midas touch of encouraging players to play at their peak.

If your going to have a pop then get some info first. As for KM read the court thread and read what the barrister said, not me it's all there.

Your point is irrelevant though because Ched Evans and Ravel Morrison are completely different people. How the Evans situation panned out has literally no bearing on Morrison's potential future with us.

Of course they are not the same person, Ched came back after 3 years out and Ravel has just come on board recently. What I am trying to point out ( not very well perhaps) is they both came in/back with the fans hoping and praying they could resurrect past glories. One has failed and the other could very well do the same and therefore that is my point.

Let's be honest, if we give him a chance it will be more down to our lack of funds than any potential Wilder sees in him.

I empathise with that entirely mate. Dark thoughts come seemingly from nowhere and are almost impossible to control. And when they appear, being in the company of even your best mates is an option you don't always want to take and would rather hide away until the feelings subside.

My personal experiences are as a result of a less than pleasant childhood let's say, that has deep seated and long lasting effects on the subconcious mind.

We never know what others have suffered and it is all too easy to make assumptions based on our own life experiences. We don't all grow up with the role models needed for a stable existence.

We are all incredibly complex creatures,so if Ravel is faced with challenges of this nature,I sincerely hope he gets the right care and advice for his sake. And if he produces some of his obvious raw talent, then we will be extremely lucky to witness it at little old Sheffield United.

That'll really mek em squeel over in S6 :D

Great post 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Morrison has 2 convictions from when he was a teenager. King has at least 15 convictions, served 3 jail terms and placed on the Sex Offender Register.

I assume now they will extend the trial to one of the other ore season games, Barnsley maybe?

Difference being Ched hadn't been playing professional football for years and had a lower ceiling anyway.

Morrison is fit having played at a reasonable level recently, and should it click, is definitely Premier League capable.

Be a bit disappointed if that’s the case. Plus another role we need to fill.. 27 days to go.

It was always likely to be the case. The chances of Morrison getting a contract, and seeing significant game time, and making any sort of positive impact are slim to none. He's never done it before, he won't with us.
