quite an interesting insight and talks about them using a psychologist with him. I really do believe CW is the man to finally get him playing well on a regular basis.

You always get people that wake up some mornings and just don’t want to go to work, they’d rather stay at home playing PlayStation.
Also they have difficulty handling any routine (easily bored), handling responsibility and they need occasional escapism.

In the past we called these people lazy or wasters.
However it seems some of it can be down to mental health issues and/or a lack of role models and support.
Morrison has said his early life as a kid was unbelievably tough (this effected him) and he might write an autobiography one day.

We can’t sign him until we’ve had the open top bus around the training ground in Portugal. Moretti and Peroni thrown on him followed by some form of pyro. If his response is not to strip to his pants and sing in front of the world then it’s a no from me.
Apparently he’s a true pro at kidney punching disabled children😎

The lad obviously has head problems. I'd guess if anyone can help Wilder can.
Really hope it works out for both parties. Even if he never actually plays for us.
People see me as a bit of a laugh, never serious, aways the entertainer and constantly jolly but ive had very short bouts of being clinically mentalist. Last thing on my mind at those times is being a performer for others.
GLTTL. :)

This is a fine example of trust Wilder. But there are other things to take into consideration - part of the strength of this team is the way they blend together - have achieved together and reached the PL together. Anyone coming into the dressing room who looks as if he might upset that will be sorted quickly. Especially with sensible people like Jags in there. IF Wilder gives him a two year contract (minimum for me) then I am happy to go along with that. Two years to give us chance to keep him longer.

No contract until after the away days in Portugal I hope. Will see how the team works and will see loads of you mad buggers out there. Will have lots of opportunities to go off piste, CW will see how he manages it would be my guess.

If he can handle drug cartels in Mexico I’m sure he can deal with a few pissed up blayards

Was just about to post the same. There was a Star article yesterday too with an interview from one of his coaches in Sweden, quite an interesting insight and talks about them using a psychologist with him. I really do believe CW is the man to finally get him playing well on a regular basis.
I'd like to think CWAK can bring out the fully realised potential that even Fergie couldn't. Hopefully with him being a bit older, he's seeing this as his last chance to impress in the Prem.

I'm hearing plenty of Wilder/Knill talk on sorting the lad out. If it happens, give Morrison himself a bit of credit. He's had plenty of issues in the past and by all accounts a difficult childhood. He might just have matured a bit, sorted out a few of his many issues and be ready to fulfil his talent. Of course, it could still all go wrong for him but he's giving it a go.

To be honest when talking about new players possibly coming the Morrison one excites me the most, I accept there is some way to go yet but fingers crossed this one comes off for the club, fans and most certainly Morrison himself, could be the most exciting signing for years, "if" he wants it enough it could also be the start of something exciting for him to.

Heard he's a quiet personality and been behaving absolutely fine.
I think he will be acting at the moment impeccably, but I wait till we are a few months in could be looking at the back end of a few defeats, then the real test of if he is up for the challenge will be seen, and if his behaviour suddenly changes.

He is a low risk chance but should be a short contract and performance based.

I empathise with that entirely mate. Dark thoughts come seemingly from nowhere and are almost impossible to control. And when they appear, being in the company of even your best mates is an option you don't always want to take and would rather hide away until the feelings subside.

My personal experiences are as a result of a less than pleasant childhood let's say, that has deep seated and long lasting effects on the subconcious mind.

We never know what others have suffered and it is all too easy to make assumptions based on our own life experiences. We don't all grow up with the role models needed for a stable existence.

We are all incredibly complex creatures,so if Ravel is faced with challenges of this nature,I sincerely hope he gets the right care and advice for his sake. And if he produces some of his obvious raw talent, then we will be extremely lucky to witness it at little old Sheffield United.

That'll really mek em squeel over in S6 :D

This thread just needs Morrison replacing with Ched and we have exactly the same thing that was being written on here then. That didn't end well did it ?

With all due respect to Ched, he was never in the same bracket of player that Morrison was when he first broke through. He's worth a trial (football that is!) and I think if we can get him near his best then its scary how good he could be. It was a lot to handle for him at 16/17 coming through at Old Trafford with all the hype and he seems to have matured and no better manager to get the best out of him than Chris.

Also Ched had to stop playing for 3 years professionally so that's enough to dampen anyone's career. Ched was also toxic for a while due to the nature of his original convinction until it was cleared and even now whenever anyone is linked to signing him its described as a "controversial signing".

Ravel Morrison's had his issues but he doesn't carry the same controversy that signing Ched did, even when Ched's conviction was quashed.

Don’t see any comparison whatsoever.

Similiar, in that both are gambles that are unlikely to succeed

Cheds issues were physical, being out of the game for so long and whether his aging body still had it
Where as Ravels issues are mental. Can he handle the responsibility and pressure of being a pro footballer?

Both are low cost, poor odds, high return (especially Ravel) so surely gamble, just like buying a lottery ticket at the newsagent.
As long as we’re not pinning all our hopes on Ravel (which we’re not) then it’s fine and makes sense.

You're right, some of us take decisions that impact negatively on the lives of ourselves and those closest to us. Let's hope that Ravel has found some semblance of right and wrong, and is now capable of taking responsibility for his actions. He has a great manager who will offer advice and point him in the right direction, and with his undoubted talent I hope he'll grasp this opportunity and show the level of consistency that has been missing in the past. If that becomes a reality we'll have some player in the red and white stripes.

OK, see that now.
Was never keen on having Ched back. Potentially too divisive and felt like we needed to move on and put all of that in the past.
I’d like to see Morrison signed up though. Could be exciting.......or on the other hand, might not fulfil the promise.

I think Ravel, could be the most inspired signing of Wilders tenure in Management, if it pays off and he finds his feet in our system, we could have a real super star player, which will have huge resale value and be great for once for us to be in a position where we are offered silly money for a player, that said if he plays that well I will hope we keep him unless stupid money comes in.

Ched was a gamble and Morrison is the same if it pays off will be amazing if not could be a player we have to shift on again, Ched the second time never really worked out and still not sure why we signed him and did it the way we did, players and Characters like this are always divisive and split fans down the middle, but Madine worked out as did Leon so I feel Wilder knows what he is doing and the risks versus rewards.

Dont see how ravel is even a bit of a gamble he'll probs sign a one year contract and if he peforms to his hype will be worth millions.

Same as didsy last year

I guess the gamble is if it effects the team spirt and or the dressing room, should he start being a nightmare as he was in previous clubs, I personally would think Chris would be all over it and not let it get that far.
