Ramsdale--our worst signing ever?

And Ryan is one of Berge’s best mates, going back to their Gene days. Went on holiday together during the summer!

Rossiter, Berge and Rammers?

The lyrics seem apt actually... can hear our erroneous custodian singing along...

'Give me something
I can hold
With that something
I will grow
Make me crazy
With your arms
It's all gone hazy
It's all gone wrong'

Think people need to chill out and take a step back with this bashing of a player who pulls on the red and white stripes. Fair enough he deserved some criticism but this some of it is way way over the top.
At the time of signing him nobody really questioned it, young keeper who just got player of the year at his club at a price you would expect in the premier league.
We paid nowhere near the 18m for him, yes he has had an incredibly difficult season but it seems like he’s taking all the flack instead of the players in front of him. We have the ball away twice yesterday in the space of 5 seconds on the edge of our box. Yes he should have done better with the shot but he has been over exposed by our poor defence this season.
Everyone keeps banging on about Henderson but I honestly believe it was the defence last season that stopped Henderson being exposed as much as what ramsdale is. His confidence is shot and United fans tearing strips off him isn’t going to help.
Agree with this . Bashing Rammers isn't going to help him or the team. CW has obviously got him firmly fixed as No 1 choice come what may. personally I see no reason to criticise him all the time. Lundstrum was dreaming yesterday , lost the ball and we got punished. QED.

This is a discussion about Ramsdale, that’s why it’s focussed on him.

Nobody that I’ve come across thinks our problems are all about Ramsdale.

In terms of “bashing him”, and his confidence, this isn’t his social media feed, and we aren’t sat on the kop. He’s oblivious to our shared opinions on here.

Finally, however his form is being affected by confidence, there’s no serious comparison between Ramsdale and Henderson. There’s a reason one’s with us, and ones with ManUre.

We won’t get promoted with him in goal next season unfortunately. You can’t go up without keeping clean sheets and if a team has 5 shots on goal in a match he will almost certainly let one of them in, whether it’s top right, bottom right or just to his right (or left) at an average speed.

Dean Henderson would have kept us mid table without a doubt. The all team especially in defence had loads of confidence with him in goal, that's one of the reasons we were playing better football last season.
Load of tosh.......The reason we sometimes can’t get out of our own half might have something to do with it. The reason Norwood loses the ball so many times in dangerous areas. The reason Fleck always needs half a season to get “up to speed” after being out of the side. The reason Lunny couldn’t give a fuck. The reason Enda Stevens defending and forward play has turned shit. The reason we’ve bought a supposed world class midfielder(Berge) who is so ponderous and slow that he’ll never get the Premier league. The reason our LCB. position has been like a revolving door of league one players. Add to this Brewster and McBurnie being unable to hit the side an aircraft hanger door.
Yes Ramsdale hasn’t covered himself in glory but he’s not on his own. He has also prevented us from being tonked many times.

Nah, Henderson had 3 defenders in front of him who had a telepathic understanding, and a midfield & wing backs who could keep possession for sustained periods higher up the pitch.

Rammers has a defence with one of last season's rocks missing, and an outfield who have lost all confidence in possession.

Honestly, Henderson would be struggling here now as well.

The problem is that Ramsdale doesn't give any confidence, and his nerves permeates the whole team.

It's not particular to him, but to any goalkeeper that is struggling which he undoubtly unfortunately is.

In your opinion we won’t get promoted in my opinion I think we will.

Yes but loss of confidence is a viscous circle isn't it?

You could argue that confidence starts at the back, or at the front, whatever. But ultimately if the team in front of him aren't playing well, and the ball is constantly coming back at him, it's hard for any confidence to build from him, unless he has a worldy in every match.

I am not excusing some of his mistakes by the way, just saying that he is put into a position where mistakes might happen, far more than Henderson ever was.

Honestly some people believe that ramsdale is not at fault in anyway and that it’s the rest of the side that’s letting down.

What’s laughable is some of those avid supporters of ramsdale seem to think we have a good chance of being promoted next season how the hell does that make any sense. In the real world we have big problems, give the kid a rest out of the team because what ever talent he does have we will never see when he is associated with never finishing above 18th in any league with any team he has played for, during which time he has on average conceded 1.5 goals per game in every division. Good fucking job we have two very expensive strikers, and a style of football that gives us loads of goals to use as a platform next season.

Remember when man u first signed de gea and he was awful? I'm hoping ramsdale can come good still. I've not seen much from him here to suggest he could but he did at Bournemouth so maybe he is just trying too hard for us and is too nervous

Yeah he may have struggled, but I don't think we'd be in bottom three. Rammers is a bag of nerves and can't keep a clean sheet even standing behind the 'Great wall of China' would rather just stick our other keepers in, but that will just prove to wilder how much he's wasted on a keeper if there do any good.

The mistake hasn't only been with this transfer, it's also that the other two keepers CW has bought aren't deemed good enough to displace someone who is clearly struggling.

Hope Wes don’t read this. Poor lad.

Imagine not been good enough, to displace someone who’s not good enough to displace someone who’s not good enough

So 18mill is ok for a keeper that just stops us from getting tonked? What a load of tosh.

Or straight at him

As for Ramsdale - not good enough. Take away the price tag and have a look at yesterday's goal. It's dead centre on the floor. It's in before he gets down. Yet again, rubbish. I'm not saying we're going down because Ramsdale hasn't been good enough. We're going down because we haven't been good enough and Ramsdale isn't much good either.

There’s only one opinion that counts regarding Ramsdale. Unfortunately, as it stands you’d have to get rid of Wilder before you get rid of Ramsdale.
