Any success we've had since the Prince took over is despite him, not because of him.
The only reason we've progressed as a club since the he came on board is because of one man: Chris Wilder. And it was McCabe who drove that appointment.
Wilder is the one who dragged us into the Premier League despite having a midtable Championship budget. He's the one who kept us there for a season despite having the smallest budget in the league. He got us into this parachute payment yo-yo, which means we now have huge financial advantages over the rest of the Championship.
Even when we did go down, Heckingbottom managed to drag us up again despite the absolute chaos behind the scenes: transfer bans, points deductions, cost cutting, then the Prince cashing in on our best players after we went up.
Even the transfer fees we have received for players - which people seem to be happiest about - were just the going market rate. Every other club in the top two divisions received fees similar to the ones we got for the likes of Ndiaye, Berge and Osula. They're just the going rate nowadays.
So what's his legacy? What can you actually say he has been directly responsible for? Because it certainly isn't our on-the-pitch success. That land we bought at Dore maybe. The fan zone. Reopening the hotel that we already owned. Fuck me. What a legacy. The sooner he fucks off the better.
