I Know we are well out of pocket, even after parachute payments etc . but sadly the Prince will surely have been well out of pocket after our loss ? anyway doing my bit saving my scarf for next year to save the club a few bob , as i don`t see us above ipswich/saints .

I don’t see us playing Sunderland in the playoff final either 😂

About the -2pts, there must be hundreds of occasions where a team has been late with repayments yet I can't recall anyone being deducted any points for this apart from us. All the teams I know that's been deducted points have been because they've broken rule with over spending.

Embargo I think was the other option for us though. True I have not heard of any club getting a points deduction based on that usually unless the club is heading for admin.

Although if PA is correct we are or were still owed money ourselves. I guess when a certain Merseyside club who isn't short of money themselves start kicking off then the football authorities listen.

Was it not also put down to another team had been late repaying us which caused the issue?

It was the length of time we’d owed the money for that was the issue from what I can remember. It wasn’t just a “cheque’s int post pal” issue. It was 12 months+ overdue.

I saw him at half time on the concourse at Wembley. He was very distracted, but with the amount of money he had riding on the match I’m not surprised. He was the biggest single loser on the day.

Not getting the £10M bonus even if we go up next season?

I’d not actually looked at this before: so it was 5 players, but two were loans and they later decided they didn’t count.
And our mitigation was that nobody wanted to pay what we were asking for someone (Sander?) in the summer, then there’d been an embargo so we couldn’t trade our way to generating some funds (which we wouldn’t have done anyway), and the failed sale to Dozy meant the Prince wasn’t in a position to get investors to put money in, presumably because it seemed like the ownership would transfer imminently. And someone else owed us some money.

And so we’d not been making the payments for about 6 months + (a bit longer for Brewster probably).

And we ended up paying somewhere between half a million and a million? in their legal fees, our own legal fees, and the costs associated with the whole process, and getting a 2 point deduction:

An off-topic thought makes me wonder if Chansiri is keeping up with scheduled payments for our neighbour’s transfers last summer. Their cash flow issues are very public, and I wouldn’t be surprised if defaults are appearing in other areas.

Was it £10m?

So in January, when Wilder asked for £10m for Cannon, the owners could have put that cash up knowing if we go up they’ll make a big profit, and if we don’t, then they save £10m on not giving the Prince a bonus? So nothing to lose really.
Or is that too simplistic and it doesn’t really work like that?

Well they did have something to lose, £10m if we fucked it up in the playoff final 😄
