Pace up top and pace in midfield to beat a man. Another centre half as cover and a goalie. 4 signings. That’s what we need.

Some very good realistic suggestions here Ricky, I’d add a couple;Just one striker? No left wing back? I think 5 is the absolute minimum:
1 GK
1 CB
1 LWB
2 CF
And probably a winger/attacking midfielder as well, maybe both. I'd like 7 in total. If I had to guess now I'd say we'll sign 6.
I think Jaoa's stock has risen this year, and given what they spent on him I think they will be extending his contract and be out of our price range.
I think they will look at a player like Rhodes and want him off their wage bill (give the FFP stuff), they'll take a hit on the fee - but even then, will we have £5/6m to spend on a striker, slim chance. Loan (to us) definitely out of the question.
I just think we need to look at spending 95% of our budget on a proven, ruthless goalscorer at this level. Not that many out there who are, or potentially are, within our budget.
I'd definitely go for Baldock. The connections with George also surely puts us in good stead with getting him
So do you not consider attackers as an area we need to improve?Issue is we have the second highest goal scorer in the league already.

Bring in a striker that we think could score more based on the chances we create. No I do agree with you, but I struggle to see how we actually improve.
Clarke has 18 (joint second) and Sharp has 13 (joint 7th highest in the league).
The strikers that have scored more we couldn’t bring in? What do we do?
Agreed, but you see where I'm coming from? Our strikers seemingly convert chances as Clarke and Sharp between them have 30 goals. I understand the frustartions as I share the same, but is bringing in a striker who scored 14 a season such a massive improvement on Sharp?.Bring in a striker that we think could score more based on the chances we create.
Not a real out and out goalscorer though is he. I think we need someone like Jack Marriott who’s on fire at the moment.
For what he'd cost (due to current form and P'boro's history in demanding top $ for players), Marriott would be a massive risk having only played at L1/2 standard.
A different type of player but Maddison would probably be cheaper
Whilst I appreciate your efforts, he doesn't match Vardy for pace.
Sounds like Maddison is off to the sty.For what he'd cost (due to current form and P'boro's history in demanding top $ for players), Marriott would be a massive risk having only played at L1/2 standard.

Really? Marriage made in heaven. Easy player to dislike!

I'm sorry I meant Marriott
Will Vaulks linked. Versatile Rotherham midfielder. Plays the same positions as Leonard. Wonder if that could mean anything...

Which one of those was this then?
Has played centre half for them this season too. Decent from bits that I have seen.
Seems like he's played as much in defence as he has in midfield.
Given the positions he covers though I don't see why we'd go for him unless we have someone leaving unexpectedly.
It might also indicate another low budget (shock).
On paper he covers all the positions Leonard can play. Now if there is anything in this rumour that may indicate his stay could be over before it really got going.
Imagine if Leonard left after less than half the time we spent chasing him. That would be ridiculous.
