If Villa go up I would love us to go in for Jonathan Kodjia, would cost a few million but he would be a bench for Villa in the prem so its possible

He cost Villa £15m - we stand no chance of getting him.If Villa go up I would love us to go in for Jonathan Kodjia, would cost a few million but he would be a bench for Villa in the prem so its possible

We already have two old Kodjias up front. If Villa go up I would love us to go in for Jonathan Kodjia, would cost a few million but he would be a bench for Villa in the prem so its possible
Hogan may be a cheaper option he’s nowhere near there first team either.
These players will end up at Middlesbrough/ Derby etc and everyone will say what a great signing by Pulis / Rowett this is.
Marc McNulty?
Even if we sell Brooks he wouldn’t reinvest the money, tell me when EVER has the money been reinvested....oh yeah never, would make no difference. With the boardroom wrangling going on and McCabe having a reasonable chance of keeping control I just don't see the budget being any different this summer to last. The only way we will spend big bucks is if we sell Brooks and I'd rather keep him and go with what we've got again to be honest!
Marc McNulty?
Luke Garbutt from Everton. Left back who has been on loan at Fulham and Wigan over the last two seasons. Ex England U21, 24 years old and been told to find a new club. Good pedigree, lost his way a bit and has something to prove.
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Jagielka yet.
May be available on a free and perhaps be up for reduced wages to come back to the Lane with a 2 year deal.
To those of you that are going to say 'His legs have gone!' - A) They haven't and B) Wright was hardly quick last season and he was a revelation. That middle of the back three defender in our system requires an experienced head able to marshall the defence. He'd be amazing with JOC on one side of him and perhaps Leonard on the other.
I'd also like us to get Robinson from QPR as he can cover LWB and JOC if required. I'd go in for Jay Dasilva on loan from Chelsea too as the first choice left back. That way we have loads of cover for wing back, which has caught us out this season a few times. It's such a demanding position and you need to rotate a little to keep those players fresh all season. We'd have Da Silva/Stevens/Robinson for the left and Baldock/Freeman/Leonard for the right. If we move on Wright and Lafferty that would make us really strong at the back. I'd have Blackman too.
I'd leave the central midfield alone as I think we've got players that need a bit of game time to develop into really top players. I'd suggest signing another attacking midfielder to challenge Duffy/Brooks but we've just signed Holmes so i'd like to see how he gets on before making a kneejerk decision to sign someone else. I also see Brooks as a striker now. I think we should start playing him as one, which would also mean we don't have to sign as many strikers. He'd be able to score goals and develop his game and value much easier than having to learn how to basically play in midfield. Let's take off the shackles with him. He's obviously a special talent.
As others have said before me, Ameobi would be a great shout, as he'd be a free and he offers something we don't have. He runs at players with such pace and is really powerful. In the same team as Brooks, teams would struggle to deal with that. He's also got versatility in the locker and we'd be able to change system in games easily which Wilder likes to do.
Blackman/Moore
LWB - Baldock/Freeman - RCB - Leonard/Basham CB - Jagielka/Stearman - LCB - JOC/Robinson - LWB - Da Silva/Stevens
LCM - Fleck/Evans RCM - Coutts/Lundstram (cover - Slater/Basham/Leonard)
AM - Duffy/Ameobi/Holmes
ST - Brooks/Mcburnie ST - Eisa/Clarke/Sharp
That's 7 signings which we'd be able to source quite cheap. If we loaned Da Silva, Mcburnie and Blackman and got Robinson, Jags and Ameobi on frees it'd mean we've strengthened the squad loads and spent very little. It shows it can be done.
If we do have a bigger budget, we can pad out the squad with these and then blow the majority on a single, quality striker instead of Eisa.
That's what I'd do, anyway.

I have not really paid attention to Miazga this year but Lewis Baker is definitely quality.Seeing as we have some sort of relationship with Chelsea, two possible/sensible suggestions are Lewis Baker & Matt Miazga on loan. Miazga is a tall, left footed 22 yr old CB, currently on loan in Holland with Vitesse Arnhem. He's also a USA international. It's usually Chelsea's strategy to loan players into Holland, and then usually loan them to a championship club. However they have sent players to the prem & germany if they are deemed good enough. Miazga has been in Holland for two seasons, and Vitesse are currently 7th in a league of 18, although Miazga has been receiving very good reviews.
Lewis Baker is the more problematic of the two. He's got all the raw materials to be a top midfielder, but at 23 yrs old, it's just not happened for him. Coming through at Chelsea he was seen as a superstar in waiting, and he was a stand out performer for england from u17's to u21's. Wednesday got him on loan in '15 in the champ, and thought they'd pulled off a scoop. He struggled, the loan got cut short & he went to MK Dons in L1. He spent 2 seasons at Vitesse Arnhem and was a stand out player, playing the 10 role or in the centre of a midfield 3, scoring 15 times in 60 games. He's now on loan at Boro this season and it hasn't gone to plan. Those that have dealt with him say that he has it all, good attitude, hard working, two footed, plays forward, square and back and he scores goals.
