Arsenal wanted him to stay but he (rightly) thought that he had a far better chance of first team football by moving. Takes some nerve to make that call at 16, particularly as there are other sides in London (eg QPR, Watford) who could have given him an easier option.Agreed it’s not a big amount, I’m guessing he was out of contract and refused to sign a new one so it’s compensation we paid as opposed to a transfer fee. Still very cheap so Arsenal can’t have been that bothered about going to a tribunal. Apparently he was Wilders last signing before he left first time around.
I really like Peck but thought he was a bit lost today, even at 11 vs 11. Seemed a yard off the pace mentally and positionally. Good learning experience and I’m sure he’ll improve, but he was a weak point yesterday and Souza had to do a fair bit of extra legwork.Think it’s been overshadowed by everything else that went off in that game but I thought Peck was good in his first full game in for Arblaster after the injury. Anel’s red obviously completely changed the game, but I thought he positively contributed in the first half and worked incredibly hard in the second.
The one big credit to Peck for me is that while he has been inconsistent as you’d expect from a younger player, he’s never not trying things and looking to be progressive with the ball. We’ve had many bang average CMs over the years and he’s definitely not one. There’s a very good player in there and I think he’ll be all the better for playing more games.
I thought he was awful but kept going rather than shrinking, fair play to the lad.Very good again, barely put a foot wrong again, that's about 4 games in a row
Already maturing significantly, it shows in his decision making and ball retention

I'm somewhere in between you and Hamandcheese .
Against the top sides, I think he sometimes struggles to impose himself and I did think Sunderland dominated that area of the park.
Jobe Bellingham is a lot further ahead in his development though and Souza looked really tired (& possibly injured) tonight which didn't help.
There's loads more to come from Peck though, he's so talented and to be playing at the level he is after so few games is remarkable.
The one thing you can't fault him on is his heart and desire. The kid never stops going and his head never drops.
Even when things aren't going for him, he keeps looking for the ball.
These traits will ensure he makes it.

We certainly all agree he's a massive talent and has a bright future. It should all be kept in context - he's an academy kid being played ahead of schedule.I'm trying to think what I might have missed but his 90% pass completion seems to back up what I thought - another responsible, mature performance
Souza as a comparison was 87%, and apparently lost possession 16 times to Peck's 8 (but quite a subjective stat I'd imagine). Bellingham also 16 times
He's cut out a lot of the risky stuff and over committing in dangerous areas. A fast improvement that suggests an ability to learn
It shouldn't have been necessary for him to play this much this soon but he's already up to the task, not letting the side down at all and will only get better. He's at least keeping Shackleton out, which isn't insignificant. By the end of the season, I predict he'll be a huge asset
Agree we still need another CM. Can't take chances in that area. Peck is still inexperienced and Davies is an injury risk
Think we're nailed on to go up if we loan a good CM and a BBD
Morton seems a good and obvious shout, I also think Cairney would offer a lot of what Arblaster does, in a deeper role now later on in his career, and could also fancy the move because he's from Leeds I believe. Could replace OHare at #10 as wellBe interested to know your thoughts on options.
I would think Tyler Morton will be available?
Pecks performances are linked to the standard of the opposition. Poor and average teams he looks very good, but struggles against the better teams. Perfectly understandable due to his stage of development.Poor first half (not alone in that) but much improved second half.
Still looks like we're going to miss Blaster against the better teams unfortunately.
