Since CW sensibly decided to revert to a back four and play two up front , some very promising partnerships have evolved which were clearly evident today and give hope for the future .

The most notable was that of Tanganga and Ben Mee both of whom I thought to be outstanding . When they were asked before this change to act in wider positions , both were clearly uncomfortable resulting in them having sub standard performances but as a central pairing today they both looked class acts and rock solid .

The latest line up has also allowed Seriki and Brooks to form a partnership down the right which at times caused them serious problems .

Peck and Reinewald were also a great success , offering great support to the back four but also being involved in attacking play and both making a significant contribution to two of our goals .

As for Campbell’s performance when part of a front two rather than that of a lone striker which he is clearly not cut out for , I will let that speak for itself .

100% agree. Hopefully if Gus is back on the left (at the risk of who though?) it'll give McCallum more opportunities to get forward.

That's the dilemma - playing Gus and Ohare will come at the expense of a front 2 which is actually working 😬

Partnerships, pairs, trios, triangles etc are huge.
Its fantastic to finally see a few blossom.
I thought the Davies/Arblaster one might be the best yet but we really shouldn't hold our breath for that one.

Benching McGuinness was a sound decision.

Bamford made some decent contributions when he came on. The ball to Cannon was top drawer.

I totally agree with you about partnerships.
The other difference today was dropping that stupid tactic of trying to play out from the back.
We've done it religiously all season and all it achieves it to put us in trouble in our own half or - at best - struggle to get out of our own half , leading to the ball returning to Coops.
It was noticeably absent today.
The pigs had few attacks so Coops hardly ever had the ball
BUT
he booted it up the pitch every time and that got us going forward a lot faster than normal.
Our midfielders also made some searching positive passes down the wings , instead of farting about with it playing tippy tappy in the middle.

This is the way forward.
I'm so sick of our toothless slow progress up the pitch ...
Today Wilder woke up and I pray he doesn't revert to that sleepy style

O'Hare had another great game full of battling endeavour , even winning headers against bigger pigs.
The vision to lay it on for the first goal was superb.
For me , Gus is NOT a shoe-in.
I never want to deplete our squad , but if good money was offered in January , it wouldn't be the end of the world.
For now , there is no need to rush him back.
He'll be rusty and overweight , so he needs to build up slowly.
And from now on - no matter what - it must be 2 up front.
One up front has fucked our season.

So entertainment - with 2 up front - becomes more important.
I'm not going to mention that enterprising exciting entertaining play might even see us climb the table for an 11th Playoff place.
What ? Pardon ?
Who said that ? Forget it , or it might never happen.
