Peck

Agree we still need another CM. Can't take chances in that area. Peck is still inexperienced and Davies is an injury risk

Think we're nailed on to go up if we loan a good CM and a BBD
It's not easy. If we loan another Doyle, it may help us get up, but it may halt Peck's chances and development. Ffw a few months and we could be in the PL relying on a Peck who isn't as ready and developed as he could have been. Similar to Osula and Jebbison last season.

These youngsters coming through is great for us and we have to give them a chance. I thought O'Hare was improved and glad he got his first goal on Tuesday, but a part of me thought it was a shame we didn't use that 3-0 opportunity to blood Marsh as well - a player who we may also find ourselves relying on in the next couple of seasons.

I thought he was awful but kept going rather than shrinking, fair play to the lad.

Agree....he gave the ball away so much in the first half and wasn't tight enough when marking/ following an opposition player.
A few around me in the 1st half commented he was having a poor game.
He improved a little in the 2nd half but still made mistakes.

However in fairness we all agreed he deserves massive credit.
He has a fighting "Blades style" character and doesn't hide, even when he's struggling.
Also he gives 100% effort and tries difficult passes, he clearly doesn't lack confidence ha ha, think he has a big future.

Hes gonna be a big big player in a couple of years and is already contributing massively. He's playing ahead of his 'development curve' at present due to necessity. Hopefully Davies will take some pressure off but I also suspect his best position is the one Souza is occupying. I think he's more of a 'do the dirty work' kind of player but is being asked to play a different role and he's coping admirably.

Ultimately Souza will probably leave and I think Peck and Arblaster could be a great partnership in a couple of years time

I agree on Marsh, having enormous potential. Can’t help wondering if Wilder is holding him back, in case others see just how gifted he is, and we lose him.

I hope it’s down to Marsh lacking the physical edge to his game? Al the youngsters blooded in the first team squad have contributed to our success this season.

Our recent form as a team has been inconsistent if we are honest. Doing well but could be better? Is that inconsistency down to young players?

Personally, I want us to finish 1st 2nd or 7th. Could not watch us in the play offs again. Some very tough fixtures still to come, and I stick by the mid table prediction I made earlier. I genuinely hope I’m wrong, but inconsistent form and results is a fact. How many of our young players will make us champions this season?
Wilder expects us to win every game, but he knows we won’t, because he is a realist and a manager.

I want us to win every game, but I know we won’t because I am a supporter and a passimist.

Best thing from a youngster is that when they make mistakes, they don't let their head drop and have belief to keep trying. Peck has this and so does this group of academy players

Yes Sydie didnt have a great first half. Gave ball away but not the only one. However as others have said if he makes mistake he doesnt go into his shell. Thought he was much better second half and was incredible with energy specially having regard to the fact it was third game in 6 days. Last 20 minutes he was everywhere showing for the ball. Fantastic player already and going to be a star.

I can't tell you how tightly my fingers are crossed that Tom Davies can stay fit.
Peck has been amazing but I think it's asking too much of a young developing player to perform in our engine room for another 28 games.
It also concerns me that we don't have cover for Souza at his very high level.
So , having lost Blaster , I think if possible we should recruit a MF. I'm not persuaded that Shackleton has enough.
If we don't and then Davies succumbs to injury , we might have to drag Hamer backwards or change shape completely , which is not ideal.

I’m a little bit wary of playing Peck as a starter. I don’t think he is at that stage yet, and he has had a lot more poor to average game so far than he has had good ones, and has looked a lot better coming off the bench. I’ve got no question to my find that he is going to develop in to a fantastic footballer but he is still very raw, and nowhere near the finished article

He’s being held back because he’s not ready. Loads of talent, but still a kid and not an out-and-out striker. The number 10 slot is already oversubscribed, whilst One’s competitors are an endangered species.

It would be fascinating to know how the coaching staff are working on Marsh given the decision to hold him back from a loan spell. They’ve turned Seriki and Peck into hugely exciting prospects away from the public eye. If they repeat the trick with Marsh then we’re truly in a golden age of young talent.

I think if/when we get BBD then Peck will inevitably become an impact player off the bench which is what I think suits him best at this stage of his career.

Then Hamer or T.Davies as he gets fitter can fill the starting spot next to Souza.

Peck is a starter he's earned the shirt through hard work and no lack of skill.
He is a box to box midfielder and that is some accolade at just turned 20.
He goes for 90+ minutes with energy and commitment.
My M.O. T. M on Friday.

I really like Peck. But having a fit Davies available and Peck to support would be amazing for us without Oli. It’s a tough decision to make for Wilder. But means Davies can play 60 or so.

It sounds counter intuitive, but we need to bring in a loan midfielder to help Peck become the player we all know he could become.

Relying on him to play 35+ Championship games is too much, he needs to share the load. Yes we have TDavies coming back - but he too will need carefully managing.

Wilder clearly wants Hamer in advanced positions, so whilst we all think he's an option to cover I don't think we can count him as an option.

3 loans are needed I reckon;

Centre Mid - Tyler Morton
Left Winger - BBD
Striker - ?????

Won't Tom Davies fulfill that role?

Very good again, barely put a foot wrong again, that's about 4 games in a row

Already maturing significantly, it shows in his decision making and ball retention

It's funny how we all see things differently isn't it.

I'd say Peck's ball retention is his biggest weakness. Gives the ball away loads

Agree, 3 midfielders to fill 2 roles, plus the possibility of Hamer should be enough to rotate. We are winning games and players want to play. Team spirit is good and there’s always a risk of a player coming in ruining that. With loan players coming in, you might have to guarantee them playing time. If we are looking then Morton is a good shout though, as he has experienced the Championship and probably wants to put himself in the shop window, as I expect he will be looking to leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

He's like luka modric conpared to hamer
Hamer tosses away posesssion lije no other player I have ever seen
Hamer tries the out of the ordinary which means he'll give it away a lot.
Most players don't try the difficult threaded through ball when a simple 5 yard pass is on. But some players do, and thank god for Hamer.

We tend to go sideways and backwards a lot, keeping possession but not going anywhere, and we struggle to get in behind an organised defence, so we have to put up with Hamer's pass not working out 9 times out of 10, but at least he has the vision to see something and try it.

That's all true and I wouldn't try and change him but he also loses possession in dangerous positions when it looks harder to turn the ball over than just play a simple pass
I find it infuriating but like I say I wouldn't try and change him
I do question his fitness levels though, if he ever decides to squeeze every last drop out of his potential then he will need to. Work on this but what a player he could be
