I only happened to notice your post, otherwise I consider
Pinchy more than able when it comes to answering any criticisms that may come his way.
I did notice in the last day or two that a smallish cabal of spitefully driven posters were indulging in unpleasantness directed towards Pinchy. Yes, I know he's more than able when it comes to stirring the emotions, so I'm usually happy to view from afar as posters join forces to spill their bile in Pinchy's direction. I myself have had rows, sometimes attracting the attention of posters who, for whatever reason, seem to think that it's ok to act in groups and imagine that by doing so it somehow validates their opinions. I'm more than happy to accept I may be wrong or have misunderstood, my ego isn't so large that I need to boost any fragility I may have....so, fast-forwarding, if the suggestion is that you imagine Pinchy needs help from myself you're wrong.
I've met Pinchy. I found him to be a decent, thoroughly likeable and generous man. As the saying goes, you speak as you find. The fact that he let's rip on here is his affair. If posters allow themselves to react to anything he says then perhaps it's time to reflect regarding why they respond in such a primal fashion. Me? I take little to heart that I read on here. I follow my team avidly, well as avidly as a currently disabled guy is able to, and find much of what surrounds the Blades to be of interest. But one thing I do know, football isn't up there when it comes to life's most important matters. Just in case anyone missed that then perhaps it explains why a few on here find it too easy to shout and argue simply because someone else (
Foxy and
Linz) works to allow all of us to write about almost anything that takes our fancy.
Whether you agree or not, this forum would be poorer if Pinchy chose not to contribute. I feel exactly the same about other posters too, some of whom I happen to disagree with. Isn't that the basis for a fair-minded approach to a forum like this?
