I'm not one to slag our fans off in general but I'm really pissed off tonight.

On way back on the minibus and the result is the least of my annoyance.

Fans who've clearly got too carried away, the idiots a few months ago who kept saying we'd get promoted, now getting on player's backs. Idiot behind me shouting for McCabe to spend what Wolves have.

Fucking wake up. Villa had a 36 year old centre half who probably earns in a week what our first 11 does. We've signed League 1 players in their late 20s and early 30s who've never played at this level. Do you think thats because we can afford much better?

Too many of our fans have got this mentality now that money is irrelevant. Yes it is. Massively. It just doesn't guarantee success.

As for our shite support tonight. Quiet as fuck in the ground but rowdy and raucous as hell on the concourse at half time as usual for the social media brigade. Fuck off.

Tonight should be a wake up call for the carried away brigade. We will struggle to finish top 6 but will still likely finish in a very respectable position with many players above their real level.

Only grumble at the staff tonight is why is Duffy now not deemed good enough? Sorry but I honestly don't get that.

The ground didn't help for me, spread out far too much with the back only about ten rows from the front, hard to get any chants started. Fair play to Wolves, made the most noise I've seen from an opponent so far this year. Walking the league will help obv

Do you really think Duffy has been deemed not good enough ? You mean Mark Duffy ? The one who has just been given a new contract ?

Has something gone off with Wilder.
I hope not

I saw a much more urgent player in Holmes tonight than I do in Duffy.

Urgent and a risk taker.

Why twist it? The player who has been key all season and not deemed good enough to play any role against two of the best teams in the division?

I think it's a reasonable question to ask when he's effectively been dropped in the last three league games for players of a similar age who haven't played at this level.

The fans probably picked up the mood of the players from the minute they walked out Of the tunnel, didn’t believe they could win.

Heard us a couple of times but nothing like other away games that have been on the TV.

Though it might be that last time we were on we got muted for shouting wanker a lot apparently. So maybe a note of caution from Sky

That's what managers do - and succeed or fail.

For what it's worth, I think Wilder knows his players, particularly Holmes.

Like someone said ,Duffy hasn't been consistent 2 games running and we have to se all our midfielders until we find the best solution. I love Duffy and the big worry for me is that Fleck isn't as effective without him in the side ,but tonight wouldn't have suited him ,Wolves have a very fast midfield and Holmes was more suited. Duffy struggles with fitness and Wilder will have to pick his matches ,but hes not been dropped for the sake of it. We totally dominated Norwich midfield the other week without him ,and we will dominate other teams both with and without him. Same situation as Jake Wright ,we have a squad.

We looked more like an accomplished unit instead of Chancer's... so to speak. I was happy to watch us with the ball, and felt comfortable when we had it, albeit that the wolves did let us play when they wanted. We seemed to have evolved from being lucky, to being confident. Unfortunately we're not good enough against teams such as wolves, who are certainly champions elect.

The atmosphere haspreviously been flat at wolves, as mentioned above it’s wide and shallow - pretty good ploy for them to quieten down the away following. Not that there was much to shout about tonight, wolves looked a class above - Credit where credit is due (I still can’t stand the mind).

Bit's and Bob's throughout. Even heard Coutts' Anthem at one point.

Yeah sang about Coutts briefly and a very noisy rendition about Ricky Holmes on the concourse.

Just about sums it up.

Plenty slating individuals who've done the business for us over the last 18 months though.

Good comments, We should acknowledge the standard we are competing against ; be pleased we have managed to make a successful transition to the Championship ; realise how much the squad has improved in such a short time ; enjoy our positive approach to playing the game ; be hopeful of continuing improvement as the squad adapts to the changes in personnel ; and be thankful we are not like Bolton, Coventry, Hull, or the Pigs (to same a few).

They all get all coked up and boozed up, go through our repertoire of shite songs, sing about how we're wankers at the Lane and then offer fuck all the second they get into the stand. The team and supporting them is a very secondary thing for the social media boys.
The depressing thing is that we're reliant on these useless cunts to actually create an atmosphere. But they haven't got a clue.

And a significant number spent the game stood in the concourse. The BBBC - Booze Before Blades Crew.

Pathetic away support. I sense far too many have forgotten where we've come from and have very quickly developed the 'football supporter's entitlement'. Expect to win regardless and let that serve as the basis for their entire approach to 'support'.

It was always going to be flat due to the layout of the away end. It's the exact opposite of what you want as away fans. But regardless, there was no effort from all but a handful.

Wolves have it down to a tee. They have home fans behind both goals. On one end everybody stands up, which we can only dream of. They were loud, they were non stop - I can't remember the last time Bramall Lane resembled anything similar. And to top it off they completely nullify the away fans by putting them in that shitty lower tier down the side of the pitch and a mile away from it.
Yes they might be top but the noise they created is something we simply wouldn't replicate. Partly because of our stadium. Mainly because of our fans.

The atmosphere was terrible in the away end today. Even before they scored

Fans are right to be pissed off, we were not the SUFC i know and love tonight regardless of the opposition.

Yep, they’ve made it shit for away fans and that’s my last trip there.

To be fair, they’ve achieved what they set out to do with it.

Agree that the atmosphere was flat today even before Wolves scored. What I will say though is that quite a few fans have such short memories. Yes it was a poor performance, partially down to giving the opposition far too much respect and ultimately being beaten by a class outfit but there were grown men who stank of alcohol slating the players before a ball was kicked! I kid you not. This carried on for the entire game and when challenged by others became very aggressive. Why bother going? How can you class yourselves as supporters? Shouting at Wolves players and calling the black players “spearchuckers” was embarrassing. They were stood on the half way line about 6 rows back. Please stay away. We don’t need you.
One last thing. Personally I generally think our support is decent but even allowing for there current success you have to credit the Wolves fans. Loud and non stop.
Still plenty left to play for. Let’s get back to SUPPORTING our team. Anything can still happen yet

Basically you either listen to the original post or you will drive Chris Wilder away.

It’s okay having ago at tatctics / players etc everyone is entitled to there opinion. But just remember when you nail him constantly and a decent job comes up don’t expect him to show loyalty when it’s not shown to him.

We’ve gone on a dip and now people are questioning him. Again you support the club and can say as you please. Just be careful what you wish for.

Well said! Annoying, the great man being constantly questioned over his subs, etc! Also, good to see some sense, rather then the manic depressive posts that are often spreading up now, like the world was ending!

I just don't get it...if they put half the effort in getting behind the team it would be great..what's the point of singing in the concourse...Fair play to all who went down, but watching on TV i never heard us.

There was nothing to hear.
