But ive got to say some of idiot fans have got me riled up more than the performance. Because the delusion of some people thinking that we can compete & beat a team that front 5 cost 50m to our 750k. Imagining problems that arent there & genuinely believe they would be top 10 in premier league i cant see who beats them in the bottom half in premier league on that display. If i was a neutral maybe i couldve enjoyed their 2nd goal. We are still outperforming all expectations i said pre season 14th, 4 off wednesday & a cup run. We have had all 3 ticked off before February

The depressing thing is that we're reliant on these useless cunts to actually create an atmosphere. But they haven't got a clue.

And a significant number spent the game stood in the concourse. The BBBC - Booze Before Blades Crew.

Pathetic away support. I sense far too many have forgotten where we've come from and have very quickly developed the 'football supporter's entitlement'. Expect to win regardless and let that serve as the basis for their entire approach to 'support'.

It was always going to be flat due to the layout of the away end. It's the exact opposite of what you want as away fans. But regardless, there was no effort from all but a handful.

Wolves have it down to a tee. They have home fans behind both goals. On one end everybody stands up, which we can only dream of. They were loud, they were non stop - I can't remember the last time Bramall Lane resembled anything similar. And to top it off they completely nullify the away fans by putting them in that shitty lower tier down the side of the pitch and a mile away from it.
Yes they might be top but the noise they created is something we simply wouldn't replicate. Partly because of our stadium. Mainly because of our fans.

I'm not one to slag our fans off in general but I'm really pissed off tonight.

On way back on the minibus and the result is the least of my annoyance.

Fans who've clearly got too carried away, the idiots a few months ago who kept saying we'd get promoted, now getting on player's backs. Idiot behind me shouting for McCabe to spend what Wolves have.

Fucking wake up. Villa had a 36 year old centre half who probably earns in a week what our first 11 does. We've signed League 1 players in their late 20s and early 30s who've never played at this level. Do you think thats because we can afford much better?

Too many of our fans have got this mentality now that money is irrelevant. Yes it is. Massively. It just doesn't guarantee success.

As for our shite support tonight. Quiet as fuck in the ground but rowdy and raucous as hell on the concourse at half time as usual for the social media brigade. Fuck off.

Tonight should be a wake up call for the carried away brigade. We will struggle to finish top 6 but will still likely finish in a very respectable position with many players above their real level.

Only grumble at the staff tonight is why is Duffy now not deemed good enough? Sorry but I honestly don't get that.

Especially when you consider the circumstances and events of the past eighteen months. The game against Wendy was a great example.

The ground would always be rocking for big games. Now when you start singing people look at you gone out. Very few on the kop actually join in any more. There is very little noise in G and H blocks of the south stand either.

Indeed I do. I always get a ticket for the back of the Kop. I've had a season ticket on there every year since 1982 up until recently.

It's hard to explain isn't it?

Personally I think it's simple stupidity more than anything. They don't realise the importance of good support/don't care about it and have no idea how to achieve it anyway - as if it's complicated.

We developed bad habits during our wilderness years in L1 when the support was more understandably subdued. The cult of sitting down has really took hold on the Kop - which means detachment, inactivity and ultimately silence.

Our fans don't seem as passionate as they were. Again, I'd say L1 took plenty out of us but there's also the distractions like phones. The football is secondary to far too many of those we'd usually rely on for vocal support.

For many of them pride is only gained from being noisy in the concourse and videoing it on their phones so the internet can see how 'great' they are. In reality your reputation will be based on what you produce during games.

Another thing that's fucked the Kop up is the apparent 'gangway rivalry'. They usually refuse to/don't join in with each other, which means it never gets too noisy, which leads to people thinking 'why bother'. Atmosphere apathy.
