Nothing will stop us
We are the best team in this division
We have the best manager
The best defence
We have the best support

Its self explanatory

Didn't you post this last season, week in week out, only to do a "Duncan" at the season's end.

Beware, Schadefreude - it has a special affinity with all things SUFC.

we dont have anyone due in court in april this season
plus we have improved, as a squad , it just keeps moving forward

Sometimes things happen for a reason , us missing out might work in our favour
we might have ended up where wednesday are now

We have never finished below 3rd in div 3 since the eighties = fact

You compare us to Wednesday , who finished 15th in their first season down
and now they are up there , history says they are a struggling championship team , so its no surprise they are in 22nd spot
You can count the times Wednesdays been in the mix at the top of the championship this century on the fingers of Abu Hamza,s right hand

We'll go unbeaten all season but draw too many, finish third and then lose in the play off final.

I admire your optimism blade too long, but I prefer to mouth off after the job's done not before

Saturdays loss of both Collins and Howard just serves to remind fans how quickly things can change

Yes, we were still too good for Orient, but 11 games in and already we haven't been able to show we were too good for 6 of those clubs we've played against

Come back in May buddy

Can you work out how many weeks/years that is to see if i'm likely to still be on this earth?

:)
Just keep taking the pills and drinking the beer and you won't care. Almost certainly not in this millennium I think. On the bright side it was a great goal yesterday.

NOT "MOUTHING " OFF , OFFERING AN OPINION
sorry if its not utterly pessimistic and rubs against the grain
but 100 or so constantly saying we will feck up was getting me goat up
An air of optimism is sweetter than the stench of defeatism

We will never be massive , we could never stoop that low

I must confess to feeling quite upbeat about our chance of winning the division this year. Tranmere will blow out, wait till they get some injury's/suspensions etc. Stevenage and MKD will be thereabouts but we have their measure based on last year.

The odds at 7/2 still seem good. Which makes the 9/2 / 5/1 I took a month or so ago look very good.

Get stuck in lads and lets make some easy money!

HH

I don't think it will take another 35 games, I'm rather hoping its sorted in 30 games and I can enjoy April and early May without the usual nail biting and my bad temper.

I think we'll do it this year, not because of any backed-up stats or figures, but because I really can't be arsed with us this season so no doubt they'll win the league in a canter. I used to complain that the Championship was bad, however, I can't wait to get back up there. At least I've heard of all the teams in the Championship! : )

It would be great to not have to spend £2-300 to see us lose at wembley without having a shot on target again
Up by Xmas or Wilson out

Said it before season started[ remember Swiss Blade] while taking nothing for granted that we'd do it, although we don't have a divine right to anything, beat any-one let's take 1 game at a time ,not big us sen up like the vile ie, tin pot clubs massive support, history, blah, blah blah. Were S.U.F.C not the other fookers, remember they topped the pile now sneer [look] at them,1 game at a time Blades,1 game at a time. p.s my bet at start of season was, man city, bolton, US, and toytown in respective div's.

Promotion in May then up to $500 million coming into the group the month after.

Europe in 5 years anybody? :D

The official "lets pretend we're massive" thread. Not enough people saying "we'll fook it up at the last minute" Personally not sure what will happen at the end of this season. We don't seem to be playing with much confidence at the minute. Could see us going on a poor run soon unfortunately. I do hope we kick it up a notch and start steamrollering teams soon but I cant see that happening

Still concerned about the fact that we have only scored more than one goal in two out of 11 league games to date.
That stat is not going to win us many games if we continue to lose concentration at the back as many times as we do - especially when we have to face more of the teams in the upper half of the division (when you consider the crap we have played to date) and accept that they will have a better set of strikers who will punish such mistakes.

It's a good start - but nothing more. Nothing to get too excited about 'cos, as borbokis says, "I do hope we kick it up a notch and start steamrollering teams soon."

As for Tranny - I wouldn't write them off so glibly. There are plenty of instances where teams with small squads keep on delivering - they had a couple of people out on Saturday but still pipped County to all three points. They have a good loanee who is scoring goals and a lad they picked up for nowt who plays wide and has pace to burn. Sounds like a recipe for success eh?

At least we're getting the "putting the mockers on it" thread early this season.

Last season we had to wait to just before the defeat at the sty for the magic numbers thread.

Much prefer the "under the radar" approach but each to their own I suppose.

Can I have some of what you are drinking please???
(it's the Blades way remember) ;-)

It was ilkly brewery ale in the tap east before the game. It's much better than reality I assure you.

Or for an excellent, if unexpected, start to the season that won't be sustained over 46 games. You can never be sure with football [or clichés] of course, but I'm not expecting Tranmere to be competing for the top two in 2013. Time will tell.

November looks tasty, bound to hit trouble then.

Confidence plays a big part , if we as fans instil anything in our players from the terraces surely a can do attitude from us is a bit more positive than wont do attitude.
You take confidence from avoiding defeat first of all
but having people in the background going it will all go pear shaped only helps Wednesday fans keep us down
, they feed off our natural wariness, its a plan thats working for owls fans having so many wont do it blades , keep it up lads

Like I said earlier, each to their own.

Don't believe in any of the above. What will be, will be decided on the pitch and the training ground with no effect from us (and most definately not from any forums). We can't contribute to a players confidence on a forum, we can't stop them getting injured or booked or sent off and those are the things that will make sure we go up or stay down depending on which way the luck falls. We have no influence over the game that Trevor Kettle turns up to turn into a lottery.
If the success of football teams was defined by the arogance of its supporters we would be seeing regular European finals between the Massive from South Barnsley and the wankers from West Yorkshire. Luckily it doesn't and we aren't.

As for pig fans "keeping us down", since when? The bastards might have got the upper hand for a few weeks over the summer but the regular balance of abuse has swung back in our favour as soon as the season's kicked off. They're easy to deal with. Accept no shit from them and exude a quiet confidence in response to their over active boasting. Works 99% of the time. Leave the bullshit to them and just enjoy the moment it bites them on the arse.

we are more passionate, we can influence our team as we showed v forest preston and stevenage in play off semis at home , then the negativity takes over in the finals, what we feel transfers to the players , its not an assurance of coming out on top , skill does that , but the will , belief to win needs to start with us

No, I don't agree.

We turned the game against Forest two minutes after they'd "won it", when they were dancing around like mentalists on the Lane end and the Kop was all but silent. The TEAM hauled the crowd back into it.

As for the play-off finals, I didn't meet one United supporter on the day of either the Palace or Wolves games that thought we would lose. Indeed, I travelled down to Cardiff on the morning of that match from Hereford on a train bulging with Wolves supporters, nervous and fearful because we were so much better than them. The pubs and ground were full of the most confident Blades you could ever wish to meet. No good, the team didn't turn up until half time.

Ask my bookie just how confident I was about last season when I thought we were the best team in the division and liked the value in January.
I'm happy with the way the season is panning out, I'm just happy in the knowledge I can't influence it and don't need to shout about it.
