No problem mate, we used to call for Alex on a Sunday afternoon & he'd come for a kick about on the Hawk & Dove playing field next to the house( until the club got wind of it!) I bought a bronze statue of a player on a plinth engraved "Alex Sabella Sheffield United" & gave it to him in his kitchen, begged him not to sign for Sunderland as they were rumoured to want him......He went to Leeds instead! His missus put it on the mantelpiece, incredible memories,ihave a photo of us outside his house

84 versus Wimbledon that top one? Lost 2-1, Alan Cork scoring there?

I remember it fairly well, was a huge crowd for the time, we were 3rd and Bassett's Dons were 2nd, really close to the end of the season. We were well beaten in the end and I remember being really down about it. But we scraped up as we all know, eventually via that Burnley Hull match after we'd finished our fixtures.

It was. Stocksbridge to Barnsley bus for us then train to town. 22,000 there if I remember correctly.
