The concrete section, which was part of the Kop, always fascinated me as a kid, late forties. I couldn't understand why it was so different and looked more modern than the rest of the stands.
It's only in the last few years I have learned it is much older than most of the surrounding structures.

Sheff Utd 3 Chelsea 0 1915 Old Trafford. Jack Harrow and George Utley before the Fa cup final.
Like the lace on the ball, takes me back to mi youth.

Confetti shower in the dressing room - it was his Sheffield United team mates surprise for left-winger Colin Grainger, married the day before to Doreen Rowe. Manager Joe Mercer watches the fun after his boys had done their morning stint in preparation for Saturdays Cup game with Barrow. 4th January 1956

LtoR Mercer-Russell-?-Hoyland , behind Grainger-?-Edward Burgin.

Russell wasnt our player at the time so I think that is Peter Wragg. Is it Derek Hawksworth behind Grainger? Dont know who is between Wragg and Hoyland
You are right, Peter Wragg, mi old brain confusing two players, similar in stature and playing ability.
Both, good with the ball at their feet and inventive in thought, with ability to find the back of the net.
Footballers, both, but excessive physicality was not their forte.
I'm going for Alfie Ringstead to the left of Ted Burgin. Burgin wasn't very tall and allowing the photograph perspective, Ringstead was shorter than Burgin I believe.
As for player 3rd from left, in original photo, nearest I've got is player front row far right in this squad photo, who's name I believe is Eric Over.

1955-56 preseason (3).jpg
Back row LtoR-Hoyland, Cross, Thompson, Burgin, Waldock, Grainger.
Mid row LtoR-Mason, Coldwell, Howitt, Hawksworth, Ridge, Rawson, G. Shaw
Front row LtoR Denial, Iley, J. Shaw, Richardson, Wragg, UKN. possible, Eric Over.
