Old Photos For No Reason Whatsoever

Brilliant ,I worked there from 1978 to 1983 with a 4 week gap when I worked for Pinders but hated it and they took me back. It looks like its derelict when you took this. Me and the 4 lads I worked with would set assault courses up around the building and have relay races diving on mega pricey suites and beds ,loved that place except 7.30 clock in , in a morning. I will never retire from work as I saw 4 of the old guys who work there die within 6 months of retiring ,it was like they just gave up.
I can assure you Sitwell that being retired is BRILLIANT!!!!

1917...anybody recognise owt?

That's a lot later than 1917. I can see the City Hall and Central Library buildings which both opened in the 1930s, but I can't say exactly when this was taken. Looking closer St Paul's church was demolished in 1938 and that is not there. There are trams running on Pinstone Street so it must be between 1938 and 1960.

Did a bit of research, that is 1947 not 1917
