Dont suppose you have any pictures of the building next to the Dog and Partridge Andingmen ? Further up next to the new building the was a lane which led to a courtyard and this was owned and surrounded by the building I mean. It was Walsh's/Rackhams warehouse , all 5 floors were full of merchandise ,you can see a settee piled up against a window on the 2nd floor. The building was massive ,I worked there for 5 years ,best time of my life.
Do you mean Bell's Square? If so the little Lane off Pinfold Street is still there but further down has been redeveloped into Walsh Court so it may not look like anything you remember

Yes it hasnt changed too much on the outside ,are they offices or flats ? Bell Square must be a new name for it ,it was just Pinfold St as I remember. It was a nightmare reversing the wagons down that lane .On the picture is the Electrical goods floor and Upholstery shop on top of the loading bay, the reception and clock in room was on the left and the canteen on the right. There was a staff of about 60 ,90% blokes but we got to go to the Xmas parties at the store which was 99% women ,used to be the highlight of my year.

Here you go Sitwell. I've got this photo I took in Feb 1990.
I'm pretty sure it was called Bell's Court at that time.
I see Eddiecolquhounsleg had also posted a ground level pic, so you've got two pics to get teary eyed about now.Bells Court from City Plaza Feb 1990.jpg

Brilliant ,I worked there from 1978 to 1983 with a 4 week gap when I worked for Pinders but hated it and they took me back. It looks like its derelict when you took this. Me and the 4 lads I worked with would set assault courses up around the building and have relay races diving on mega pricey suites and beds ,loved that place except 7.30 clock in , in a morning. I will never retire from work as I saw 4 of the old guys who work there die within 6 months of retiring ,it was like they just gave up.

Work to live don't live to work.

They are described as 'apartments' but they are flats to me and thee.

Great old (moving) picture of us parading the FA cup in 1925

There might be a few more on the BFI site too, they have some match highlights too from the 1900s.
