Wrong season. Not McClelland62/63 ?
It's much more likely to be Doc Pace given the position.
Jack McClelland keeping goal for Arsenal ?

Correct season and yes, it was Bob Wilson. He didnt get a regular place until 1969!63/64.
When I first looked at it first I thought it looked like Bob Wilson but didn't think he'd played that early.
Must have been one of his first few games.
Guess the match and the season

Blades; Hodgkinson, Coldwell, G Shaw, Richardson, J Shaw, Summers, Allchurch, Kettleborough, Pace, T Wagstaff, Simpson
Arsenal; Wilson, Magill, McCullough, Barnwell, Ure, Brown, MacLeod, Strong, Baker, Eastham, Anderson
Addison in Nov 1967. Barnwell (from Forest) in April 1970. Liked Addison but Barnwell was disappointingBarnwell signed for United later on in his career. We also signed Addison from Arsenal around the same time.
Imagine that. Arsenal a feeder club for United. How times have changed.

I remember admiring Barnwell's trick by feinting to kick the ball that made his opponent turn his back thinking he was kicking the ball towards him and Barnwell then pushed the ball past him with ease. It was in the Watney Cup semi final 1-0 defeat at Derby Jon McGovern scored) in August 1970. I copied the trick when having a kickabout in my local park in the next few days and it worked well for me for many years playing for my school and for the club I played for after I left school!Aye, maybe but cut the guy a bit of slack. It was towards the end of his career and he was all but crocked. You could see the class at times though.
And what a goal it was.Sir Bob of Atkins after that goal at Millmoor ..

My father took me to that match as a 2 year old. When the first wicket went in the first over, I started bawling and he couldn't shut me up. He had to take me back to Hollythorpe on the bus and then catch the bus back to Bramall Lane. Just as he was taking his seat again, Bradman was out. It was Bradmans last tour and he never forgave me !!!!!!
Calvert was a real bad footballer.
Nice away kit.Calvert was a real bad footballer.
Boleyn Ground ? ,what a shameNice away kit.
He came when we were on the way down as a team.Nice away kit.
The bigger lad went to play football in Florida and is still there, if I've got it right. The little lad at the front is on the Brighton picture from 7 years later!
We had a ridiculous attitude towards buildings and architecture in the 60s and 70s. We just twatted decent buildings downs because we thought they were old fashioned and we wanted to be 'modern'. Now we realise those horrible concrete cubes look shite and it's too late.
The pavilion would be a brilliant club shop, bar etc that would be rammed every game. From what I've seen of photos during construction, we could have kept it but knocked it down for a fucking car park.

Guess at 61/62 and it looks like Gerry Summers. I'll have to think about the opposition.

Looks more like Kelsey than Gaskell so Arsenal ?
