The photo on the left posted by SouthEssexBlade ? That's Midland Railway station.I take it the photograph on the left is from that practice pitch showing the back of the kop as it was being built. So the photographer was near the entrance from Shoreham Street to what is now a car-park.
I doubt it mate some of these very rare street lamps have a "grade II " status. The Historic Sheffield group will be pushing for all the 25 remaining in Sheffield to be given grade II status. Sheffield had more of them than any other town in the country because of the hills around these parts. It's been reported Amey have been helping themselves to some of these. All in the cause of making the footpaths safer of course.
I've had to refer to the 1974 'David Colemans World of Football' because I would have staked the lot on Bonds (usually a safe investment) , but I have to admit you are correct. When they wear a beard , they are very similar but the dark hair of Lampard distinguishes him from brown haired Bonds. I guess what threw me was the height , I never realised Lampard , a LB , was as tall as our Eddie. Apologies Silent ☺.Deffo Frank Lampard
I think this is from the 1930s...

How on earth do you know ? Who is laying dead in the area on the left ?Blades 3 Forest 0 in 1928 FA Cup 6th round

Do you have a photographic memory ? I am just in awe !Graeme Crawford's painful debut in the 1-0 win against Norwich in Sept 1969. I was at the game but I wasnt a committed Blade for another 4 months
Please pass me the name of your optician ☺It was a first-time half volley of a free kick from the right wing. As can be seen from the photo, he hit it on the up and he really got hold of it. It "stuck" in the back of the net in mid-air. Goal nets were quite loose in those days and the net wrapped itself round the ball and stanchion to hold it there.
I'm in that little group of kids at the front on the John Street terrace, between the keeper's right shoulder and the Boro number three.
Harry called it Fred West's garden.
Saw the photo before in one of Denis Clareborough's programme articlesHow on earth do you know ? Who is laying dead in the area on the left ?
I have the programme for the home game against Cardiff which has these photos as the Norwich game was the previous home match. Hodgy got injured in the League Cup match against Newcastle 4 days before the Norwich game (Woody replaced him in goal for last 15 minutes of the match) so Crawford was given his debut for the next match. Hodgy recovered from his injury by the time we played at Birmingham (the next game after the Norwich game)Do you have a photographic memory ? I am just in awe !
