And David "The Twat" Baddiel on Match of the Day saying that he was pleased that Stein came back from injury and got a goal, how nice. Not an ounce of sympathy towards a team relegated, oh no, just smarmy comments about Stein. The twat.

I was emotional and pissed by the time MoTD came on, so that may have played havoc with my reasoning that day. But I have hated Baddiel ever since. Solely on the basis of that. Am sure there might be more reasons, but I can't be bothered to find out.

Another reason could be that he is not funny?

True, he wasn't funny before and I switch the channel if he comes on tv now (although his career seems to have gone as successfully as I could have hoped for as I have not needed to switch channels in ages)

I was playing cricket at Castledyke that day. The Wendy fans from our opposiing team, Grimesthorpe, cheered when it was announced in my car radio that we got relegation. An awful day!

I was playing cricket that day too. I was being led off the field away at Millhouses having took 5 wickets, only to put the Walkman on and find out those set of results. To make it worse of course, all the pigs in the team were taking the piss.

Sussed nigels gameplan out .make us look ordinary and boring most of season then surprise opposition in playoffs by our stylish play and attacking football. after pretending players are tired and injured and worn out they were really fit after all.( end of worries)

Not really worried about the play offs as such . Just cant stop thinking about Danny Webber hitting the post - Wigan and Don Givens missing a penalty against Walsall . Fine lines , but this time , we have just got to make our own luck . As Him Behind You alluded to , in post above , we are were we are , because of SUFC past failures , nothing else . Clough and Co - buck the trend.

Baddell is posh but sings

"football's caaaaamin home"
"it's caaaamin home
It's caaaamin home"

in that mock cockney accent,

Swindon I agree, but MKD and Chessy are hardly showing signs of choking. The hope I have this time, is that on our day we're capable of sweeping anyone in this league aside....we'll soon find out.

I too wanted to avoid mk dons in the semi but assuming we have to face them either in the semi or at Wembley, I'm now thinking I'd give us more chance with a home and away leg against them. So I'll be hoping for mk in the semi and then an easier final. Anyone else share the same view ?

Could we play them Blades, they seem easy in a final?

After somehow managing to lose a penalty shootout in which the other team missed their first 3, I have no expectations anymore. I'm just not looking forward to the inevitable defeat, whether it be in the semi or the final.

Makes me think back to 1993-94 and the agony of the see-sawing scores on the final day that eventually saw us go down - I really hope we get the job done on Saturday.

Weren't we about 3 or 4 places clear of the relegation zone at one point that day?

I just can't see Rochdale winning, they are against two very good sides in this league with MK dons and Barnsley.
MK dons are after 2nd place so will certainly be looking to win and Barnsley will want to finish on a high.
Also we only need a draw to secure a play off place.

I had a look at Rochdale's stats and they've taken 15 points from 20 games (W4 D3 L13) against sides in the top half but a sizeable 48 points from 23 games (W15 D3 L5) against sides in the bottom half. This just shows where you can get by putting away sides in the bottom half.

United have also lost 5 games against bottom half sides but have also drawn 9 games.

You wouldn't expect all of the 4 remaining results to go against us but it would help enormously if Chesterfield take a point at Bristol City.

We could then play out a boring 0-0 with Chesterfield to guarantee 6th (if we lose at Orient and Rochdale beat MK Dons)

Imagine what the Footballing Gods, Fatty Samuels and Radio Pig will make of that.
