Don’t panic, which they aren’t, approach games exactly as we have done before (as it has brought us success as we are the second best team in the division). As for fans remember football results chuck up surprises that’s what makes it exciting (of which Millwall wasn’t an anomaly). Recognise this squad and management team will be doing everything to win all games.
The current second best team within the division, for now.

Really, what happened to the last two games then?

As the thread title says we are all experts. Hecky quite probably said to the board in the jtw we don't need anyone just don't sell. He deffo sees something in the players that we don't Osborn for instance. He won't sub Berge off when he is in non contributing mode and goes for Bash rather than Clark in a defence that is decidedly jittery. His persistence with not subbing off form players in games is going to cost us I'm afraid.
It's more than that.

I thought Hecky when asked about the window I will be happy with the window if we can just get through it without selling anyone this is a good group I don't want anyone to leave.

I'm sure Heckingbottom would've loved to have replaced Khadra and brought in another central midfielder and defensive cover.

His comments were probably more "Given the circumstances..."

Yep, probably agree with that.

For now by 2 victories potentially 3 margin for now. Each game at a time in all footballers minds and managers. Only fans turn it into a predictable pools panel/Nostradamus event forecast.

We certainly have a lot to thank Chris Wilder for, Boro would have been out of sight with Burnley if he hadn't been in charge at the start of the season.

Actual performances and results can also do that.

Calm dowm pleeeeeeeeeeeease.

There is every chance Watford will bugger us, but let's give this stupid Cup game out the way, then we can concentrate on the matters in hand. Cup games have always caused problems because they all want to have a go at Spurs. you only have to look at Wrexham.

And there is every chance Middlesborough will have a wobble very soon. They are due, and a bit over confident.

5-4-1. Keep the back 5, an extra body in midfield and one up top. Pointless having 2 uptop if they get little to no service. McB and Jebbo too simiilar, need just one. Preferably McB. We lost the last few games as teams have figured out how to neutralize Norwood. The midfield rarely wins the second ball and often cause it's 3 against 4. Drop Ndyiaye into midfield and that should help stabilize the middle of the park which has swiss cheese type holes. But what do I know?

TBH, I agree with pact the midfield tactics at the present time.

It was a saying under Wilder - 'Big men turn up for Big games'.

I'd have that printed large and posted around the training ground and dressing room.

It isn't time to lose your arse, it's time to trust the process and make sure you're 100% focused on delivering every match.

Or to Swiss' point - pay a psychologist to put this much more eloquently

I like the approach but how many times do you see Norwood running back pointing and Berge 10 yards behind him we have the slowest midfield .. UTB
Yeah, they're not fast, so they can't all commit upfield as seemingly en vogue this week.

Biggest problem is Max Lowe can't defend, put Clarke in at LCB and Robinson at LB, at least we'll have someone who can put a tackle in instead of Powder puff defending
Robinson at LWB do you mean? Please no.

You sensible c***, I agree completely (albeit slightly less kamikaze than last week).

I don't think you get much for that sort of outlay. You get a Championship player that might step up. Villa spent around double that on Watkins from the Championship. Brewster has been a bad signing as and there's been others but we aren't talking huge money. 20 million isn't big money in the Prem, it's punting money.

Foreign players under Wilder (non Irish, Scots, Welsh) from the top of my head: Verrips, Zivkovic, Besic, Berge, Mousset, Lavery, Restos, Uremovic. There's probably others. I don't think it's an issue until the Championship at the earlies but that's over five seasons. People only cared about the "lack of foreigners" in the last two. The board said nothing publicly until our relegation season 🤣.

My point isn't really that he was mad on signing foreigners, he wasn't, its more that the board narrative of him turning them down isn't really true, and seems quite comical given post Wilder player acquisition

If it was true, where are all these fantastic, cheap foreign players Wilder was turning down now? They have free reign post Wilder, so where are they? Why were they also signing Wilder targets when he left (Ben Davies) instead of these cheap foreign diamonds for peanuts?
Besic would be straight into this team wouldn't he.

Hecky to get us over the line from here
This is my advice...

If— BY RUDYARD KIPLING

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

If we had recruited wisely when we knew we needed
If we had a leader who could lead
If we took advantage of all before us
rather than our advantage to concede
If we don’t reverse the situation
Gather all our strength and be as one
If we fail at the final hurdle
We will end up in division one …
My son
