WWWD

What would Wilder do? Well he would certainly not sit there and let the shitshow behind the scenes derail our chance of promotion.

He needs to get on the blower to Bettis and get him to tell the owner to sort their shit out otherwise he's going to start saying in press conferences how crap the club is really being run, from the training pitch, to the heating, to the embargo... otherwise threaten to resign.

The reason Hecky got such a long contract is because the board know he's not the type to rock the boat, well I'm sorry it's time for Hecky to stop being such a coward and speak up imho.

In all honesty we may be too far gone in the season for it to make any difference now, it should have been done months ago.

The club and it's history are bigger than any one temporary owner.

He's done that, "calling the board out", re recruitment and the training pitch. If he was brought in as a yes man he's failing in his role

True. May well have had an effect on the squad though. Who knows?

(I know , as is currently popular on the takeover threads , l should now dream up an Uber positive or darkly slasher scenario with more fantasy than Barbarella to illustrate to make my post “thoughtful and interesting”. Well fuck it, we’ve been poor. Saying that doesn’t damn me to the realms of the moaners.

Better Blades or Bigger Blades. Out of the same mould.

for a start stop bringing ben osborn on he offers us nothing hes a 3rd choice lwb at best and wont be here next season whichever league were in know were short on numbers but hecky has to make some crucial decisions and start dropping some of the established players and give others a chance they cant do any worse than some were starting just now

I think what we are witnessing on the field in recent games is a reflection on the stance taken by the owners ... by allowing our finances to be manipulated in order to save money ... resulting in a transfer embargo ... at a time when other clubs were investing in players to provide additional strength for a promotion drive. This, together with the fiasco over a new owner not to mention issues relating to the training facilities ... ...will probably have caused at least tension , stress and concern about the futures of the players, the manager , the coaching staff ...and even about the club as a whole .

This is clearly being manifested in hyped up reactions by players and manager who have look rather demoralised and lacking in focus during recent games, ... and for them to be tied to a club in such disarray is bound to be having an unsettling effect on the performance of them all ... whether they intend it to or not . ... and while all this is going on ...the ownership fiasco rolls on ...apparently going nowhere ...and the automatic promotion place ...and quite possibly any route to attain promotion ... is rapidly beginning to fade into the distance .... I cannot see the advantage to the current owners in making many of their recent decisions and I am concerned about how all this will conclude at the season's end. . I really hope I am wrong.

A lot of the goals we have seen against us have been when we were attacking. Midfield have been poor defensively. Don't really know why Coulibaly hasn't been given a chance.

Exactly. Our midfield is pretty much incapable of getting back quickly after we’ve lost possession up front. McAttee, Doyle and the player we need to create and score at the other end of the pitch excepted.

because we cant play a game without bringing ben osborn on he really influences games doesnt he 😳😳😳

Get the squad to give Berge a reyt sharpe towel slappin int showers to wake the fecker up. I counted at least 4 times today when he were caught in possession playing walking football and once where he ducked to avoid blocking a shot.

Get the fucking lot of em on the grass tomorrow then munchies good laugh bit of music on the headphones sleep and all that stress will be gone

My advice would be to leave Berge on the bench for Watford. Put Baldock in at RWB & put Bogle at RM. If Baldock is not available keep Bogle at RWB & put Coubially at RM. Give Egan the biggest bollocking he's ever had & start Ndyai as behind McB & Jebbison. And start with 12 on the pitch - the ref will never notice.

Hecky to get us over the line from here
I would like him to findd a way to start each game with McAtee and Ndiaye behind McBurnie . It might mean dropping Berge and playing Fleck/Doyle with Norward if we stay at 3-5-2 or eve trying a 4-3-2-1 formation( which i doubt he will do)

Clark also needs to start

for me millwall was great example of it. stop trying lump it forward. & i dont why weve started recently, we need to value possession all our success came from shorter balls. instead of aimless lumps forward. as that just exposing our defence. while we are re organising

what was frustrating is that millwall are well known as a direct / long ball team he makes rowett makes no bones about that. the long ball team were the only team looked comfortable passing & in possession. we were like watching england under Capello. ball was a hot potato. pep would have a heart attack watching us

I think that we need to now change formation as well, not sure about 4-3-2-1, but a change is now required. Not only to try and amend the current form, but also to fit just what players that we current have available.

weve tried 4 at the back and it hasnt worked but its time we tried again we need another body in midfield preferably coulibally he needs to be given a chance now if we carry on playing in this formation its gonna be play offs im afraid teams have sussed us out were too predictable

Throw in the fact there are several players out there who don't have a job come July, our best player on a few grand per week and was told he could leave last month, Berge having been told we want to sell him last month then still here, hardly going to help in making them play well.

Has Lee Mason been given the game?

So that’s two who should have no worries whatsoever. No the best examples.

Lmao, barely.

Compared to Wilder, Hecky is a little pussycat.

Compared to Wilder, yes. Wilder is the most board critical manager of SUFC since we sold Deane and Fjortoft; he's an outlier. Wilder resigned three times to get his way. Give me what I want or I'm gone. The third time he had this confrontation he was gone (I'll be here "if we stick to the plan" was his last comment on his future at SUFC).No manager bar Hecky has been more critical of the board since Charles Green sold the team - if he's a pussycat, they're all teddy bears

Hecky has been going on about the training ground and needing a Khadra replacement for ages whilst pressurising the board not to sell Berge and Ndiaye throughout his tenure. He's let the fans know exactly who's responsible for those situations, and the ongoing problem with the first two. He also let us know it was new players or training ground in the summer; not both! He's very good at placing the spotlight on the board imo. Some would call it blame shifting.Managing upstairs is always parodied as blame shifting. I think it's a key part of modern football management.

It's funny, but when Wilder was "managing upstairs" there was barely a trickle of support on here. I know as I was supporting him. Now it's all, "we don't want puppets and yes men". To most of those people I'd say you were happy when the biggest anti puppet we ever had left, or certainly weren't supporting his upstairs management. It was all his fault, not the board's, and he should shut up, doff his cap, and get on with the job😉.

Don't disagree and I was sorry the day that Wilder left. However, the signings of Mcburnie, Brewster and co can't be disregarded into our current plight and also his anti-foreign player ethos, which has also led us to where we are now.

Our currently plight has us second in the league and would've seen us promoted last season, imo, if a competent replacement was brought in rather than "I need ten players", I'm changing the system, chequebook Slav .

Mcburnies done ok. Decent first season and this season. At 17 million he's been far from a disaster. We expected to go down in season one so this is precisely the situation we expected. A top Champ squad trying to bounce back. We didn't spend big money in the Prem when you account for fees and wages.Wilder can't be blamed for spending big money and failing.

I don't really buy the anti foreign player malarkey. We signed a number of foreign players under Wilder. If there is an ethos, its continued after Wilder - it's a bit rich for the board to use that old chestnut when it's precisely what they've done. To my knowledge only one player would be classed as foreign source and based post Wilder: Anel. We also had Olsen but he was well known in English football. The rest are well known English based players.

Decent first season and this, what about last season? And is his £20m price tag worth what you say?

Brewster and his price tag??

The lad from Bournemouth was probably worth his transfer fee based upon the first season of keeping within the EPL, but after that?

How many out of the UK players did we sign again under Wilder?

I don't think you get much for that sort of outlay. You get a Championship player that might step up. Villa spent around double that on Watkins from the Championship. Brewster has been a bad signing as and there's been others but we aren't talking huge money. 20 million isn't big money in the Prem, it's punting money.

Foreign players under Wilder (non Irish, Scots, Welsh) from the top of my head: Verrips, Zivkovic, Besic, Berge, Mousset, Lavery, Restos, Uremovic. There's probably others. I don't think it's an issue until the Championship at the earlies but that's over five seasons. People only cared about the "lack of foreigners" in the last two. The board said nothing publicly until our relegation season 🤣.

My point isn't really that he was mad on signing foreigners, he wasn't, its more that the board narrative of him turning them down isn't really true, and seems quite comical given post Wilder player acquisition

If it was true, where are all these fantastic, cheap foreign players Wilder was turning down now? They have free reign post Wilder, so where are they? Why were they also signing Wilder targets when he left (Ben Davies) instead of these cheap foreign diamonds for peanuts?

What we need to do for starters is to get back to being solid defensively and stop giving silly goals away. Promotion teams don't concede 3 goals a game. The winner for Millwall today was fucking criminal from United. It needed our players to be switched on, do their defensive jobs from a standard free kick and go with Millwall's runners, and we don't concede that goal and come away with a valuable point. All over the show with the goals conceded today.
