I don't know where he did "very well". Didn't have control of players and that was clear from early on.

Bottled it each time.

Young referee or not, they're there to be the authority on the pitch. He clearly wasn't.

Stamp out any shit from the start and players will know they can't get away with stuff regardless if the ref is 25 or 55.

For me - he was too afraid to stamp that authority and shied away from several clear bookings.

Read it properly and you'll understand that someone started this thread off by simply highlighting that they thought the officials were poor today.

I thought he did ok but i did think the Gillingham team obviously thought that he could be bullied and got away with it. I never like to see referees rushing to get their yellow cards out, but today at the first sign of dissent someone should have been booked, - I thought dissent was supposed to have been outlawed this season

I'm usually the first person to get frustrated with the officials we seem to get at BDTBL, but you just have to remember:

If they were any good they'd be reffing in the Prem.

I'm sure, like football teams, the officials we get are assigned to what is deemed to be their level.

Let's not blame the officials for being the architects of our own downfall this afternoon. We shouldn't be relying on the officials to have a good game, and we didn't have to today considering some of the chances we had and the nature of the goals conceded. Let's just hope that the performance was a two-off and normal service is resumed on Tuesday night.

Don't worry Clarkey87 , I totally get what you are saying and agree entirely. Nobody on this thread has blamed the referee or his assistants for today's result; in fact just about every thread on the match lays the blame fair and square on some shit defending.

However, I came out of the ground frustrated at the result, annoyed that we defended like lightweight kids for ten minutes in the second half, and angry that as we are in this division we get lousy officials, some of whom are young and on the way up and trying to prove themselves; today's didn't look old enough to be out on his own and was very, very weak - Gillingham realised this and played him for all they were worth and heck, was it effective!

As i hadnt recognised this Referee before, during the match thought he was either very naive or very lenient because he made some strange decisions like allowing Gillingham Goalkeeper to blatantly time waste for 20 mins & keeper once he knew he was toothless just had a laugh

Strange hearing from LYDON as i watched the Lincoln v Ipswich he was anonymous no one talking about him which is sign of a good ref

That push on Duffy was the most blatant foul you are ever likely to see and that cunt of a linesman had a better view than anyone else in the ground. Complete bottle job
