If we have any real hope of autos these are the games you need to tough it out and get a win, after seeing saturdays capitulation im not confident, we appear to be week mentally. I would get Anel out and Soutter in, RND for Burrows and give a half for Brooks and Jes. Really hope we can win but im not confident, its probabally a hangover from last season

I think QPR was on Wilder. At HT sensing capitulation from QPR you have to keep momentum and pressure on them. Instead he obviously told them to keep the 2-0 win.

I’d like to see us on the front foot V Norwich. They’re not that good and have been weakened. We need to be up and at em.

Jes comes in for me.

Should be a good game this one. Norwich have started slowly, but there are signs that they could do okay for themselves this season.

Surprise defeat at Oxford on the opening day, but was a fairly even contest. Neither side truly dominated - Oxford were simply more clinical with their chances. Then a draw with Blackburn last time out - a game that Norwich absolutely should have won, but again failed to convert the chances they created. More shots and shots on target than Blackburn, plus having more than twice as many touches in the box. Makes me think that our ability to counter with the likes of O'Hare, Hamer etc. could punish them wasting opportunities as they are currently.

Also looks like the lad Rowe is on his way to Marseille, so that is a decent threat we won't need to worry about.

Would like to see Souttar come in at the back. He's a very calming presence, seems happy to bark out orders, and can pass well. Anel doesn't look up to snuff for me so a definite drop. Perhaps bring in Rak-Sakyi for Brooks, and definitely want Cooper to start over Davies.

Cooper

Gilchrist-----Souttar-----JLT--------Burrows

Souza------Blaster

Rak-Sakyi----------O'Hare------------Hamer

Moore

Defence doesn't need to win us the game - they just need to make sure they don't lose it for us. Tight at the back, well marshalled by Cooper & Souttar, plus protection from Vini. Then Blaster & the front 4 are left to play and catch them on the break. If they want to play possession (as Norwich teams have been inclined to do in recent years), then I'd like to see us pressing them high, looking to force errors. Doing that worked well at times vs PNE and QPR, so more of the same would be very nice.

Also, this match is on my birthday, so I'd very much like 3 points to keep a smile on my face!

Not sure if I have mentioned it 🤪 but my first away game and very excited.

Last season we seemed better away from home and Preston, then QPR, results didn't stop me thinking this might continue...

Bringing in Souttar especially with Anel transfer rumours seems a no brainer, I would potentially give Brooks first half (he has done well and don't want the lads confidence to drop) bringing Rak-Sakyi on in second half, when their defence should be tiring from chasing Brooks, Hamer and O'hare around.

Cooper starting is only right, its clear he is in as number 1 and I think that

Cooper

Gilchrist-----Souttar-----JLT--------Burrows

is our 1st choice defensive unit for the short term future. RND maybe to come into that somehow.

2-1 win to the Blades for me and that would be a good result and finishing August (barring league cup 2nd round) really positively.

did I mention I am going to be there?!!

Pretty much agree with that side but I'd put trusty in for jlt , I think him and souttar look like they could develop a good partnership

I think we will win. I think this is a different Wilder this season its more his team by design than last season. Also think he is starting to learn from mistakes and wont repeat last week.

i also fancy us to win this one think the players will want to put last saturdays collapse behind them and dont think norwich have got going yet keep seargent quiet and weve every chance

If we loose it will be a disaster.

Everyone round these here parts will be like................ "a dog with two cocks".

Norwich haven't lost at home in their last 19 competitive matches 😮

Crazy home form!! in fact last time went 20 games undefeated at home was in 1986...

It's very much a theme since Wilder took over that we come flying out of the blocks and often take the lead. Even when we were utter crap last season, the first 20 minutes of games was usually pretty good and we led in a lot of them. We then run out of steam and things go south late in the game.

So yeah, that's my prediction.

Seem to remember Aston Villa having some sort of impressive home record last season, until The Mighty Blades rolled into town...

----------------Cooper
Gilchrist-Souttar-JLT-Burrows
----------Arblaster-Souza
------Brooks-O'Hare-Hamer
----------------Moore

Subs: Davies, Anel, Trusty, McCallum, Peck, Slimane, Rak-Sakyi, Campbell, Brewster

CW said no new injury concerns so will be surprised at any specific absences like Peck, Anel, Trusty, Souza, which might suggest departures.

It was either hadn't lost a home game or won all their home games in the calender year. Can't remember exactly which one it was.

Had to look it up: 15 successive home league wins. Including v Man City and Arsenal.

The painful thing is we should have bloody won it!

We’re here. King’s Head. Duke of Wellington beer festival, unfortunately run by a pig. Coach and Horses finished off with the Fat Cat and Canary. Norwich has to be one of the best away days/weekends.

We had a habit of stopping teams going top of the Premier League even when we were complete shite.

Man Utd 1-2 Blades (January, 2021)
Aston Villa 1-1 Blades (December, 2023)

Seriki if fit must be at least on the bench not sure Gilchrist can do 90 yet. Want Soutter to start, JSR for an hour and Brooks for 30mins would be my guess. 2 each is my prediction.

He may not have told them to do that but the players decided it was best not just after half time but after 20 minutes.
You cannot blame the manager all the time : professional players have to take some responsibility during a match.
