Let's be honest it's a horrific job to take on the basis of what Wilder achieved for us + who he was and his history and connection with the club.

Therefore the job has to go to someone who unites the fans, not a quick fix, and not someone who's inexperienced with the pressures that will be required next season.
Some of the fans will be baying for blood before a balls been kicked, so the board really needs to make sure they're showing the ambition that has been somewhat discussed in prior interviews.

Some fans need to also realize that whoever we get in wont be Chris WIlder.

Lets be honest, what Wilder achieved is GONE, what Wilder’s left to work with is HORRIFIC.
The first job of the new manager is NOT to unite the fans,it’s to quickly assemble a squad capable of a quick return. For me Fxxk the fans, lets get it right on the pitch. The fans won’t score goals or save them: the squad will. Some of the fans boo after 5 minutes if we ain’t 5 up after 10 minutes. Fed up of hearing we’ve got to unite the fans.

I'm sure it's just a courtesy. It's pretty standard stuff, caretaker does well higher ups say he's in the running but usually isn't, it's just what you say.

But does winning one out of 6, losing the other 5 and scoring 2 goals qualify as doing well? I have nothing against Hecky, he seems a genuinely decent fella and the circumstances have been very challenging, but as auditions go, that is not great. He must be doing a lot right behind the scenes if he’s in genuine contention of getting the job. Either that or we’re on a seriously tight budget.

Didn't someone say he's got a marginally better record than Wilder had this season the other day? Regardless, I don't think he's doing "well" either, but he's done enough considering and is not dogshit enough to be swiftly punted out of the running when Bettis is talking to the press.

Also, even if he's not in the running, he'll still be an employee of the club so why put him down in public?

Blessin can’t come due to post-Brexit work permits, it’s been widely reported.

I think the concern is from a long list, why is Hecky on it? His professional record is dire and he’s presided over the season’s biggest home and away defeats. Likewise Tindall has contributed to the above and failed at Bournemouth. They both shouldn’t be anywhere near this job.

I don't believe the Blessin visa thing. Aren't new immigration rules allowing people in who've got well paid jobs to go to?

It sounds like the government have turned to The FA and said "Make up some Brexit criteria". So they did, and Blessin doesn't meet those criteria.

You might laugh S40BLADE but some years ago, some people on here were crying out for KR to be our next manager.

He got his Oxford side to last years play-off final and they lost to Wycombe.

This year Oxford are just outside the play-off places by 1 point with 2 games left.

Got to be honest, I’m surprised Hecky is on the short list. He’s had a go at Championship management but I didn’t see any success.

It wasn't promotion, but Barnsley finished above Wolves 4 years ago.

I don’t think hecky is our new manager but a very important member of our club in terms of a link between youth set up and first team someone who can keep a eye on both seems very intelligent.

I think most supporters knew who Bettis were before the departure of CW, especially how well CW spoke of him. However that doesn't get away from the fact that he is obviously involved within the process of selecting the new manager and makes a statement suggesting that the likes of Hecky are on the shortlist, which if it is the case, then given the professional management history of the likes of Hecky and Tindall, it's a poor development from the club in the search for the new 1st team manager/coach.
