What I can't get my head around is the fact that the ref blew for a penalty because he quite rightly thought a foul had been committed, if it's inside the box it's our penalty if it's outside it's our free kick, VAR get involved and it's an uncontested drop ball, it should have been brought back to a foul as the ref had already stop play

Our defence/defending is embarrassing. I said it midweek, we look OK going forward, but simply cannot defend. We could have had 4 or 5 goals in the first half. They could have got to 8 again in the 2nd.
The way we concede quick goals and throw the towel in Is awful. I would hate to play in this team. No fucking heart, desire or pride at all.

Great performance first half. Think everybody did well. Shame we couldn't score one or two more.

There are times when we manage to get a player in the team who I look forward to seeing on the ball every time. Arblaster is getting there I think. Brilliant.

Three set piece goals in 12 minutes killed us and we looked like collapsing at that point. Set piece defending must be one of the things we try to improve in the summer.

Really enjoyed the first half played some really good football. Our defending is a joke at times, the number of times they switch off at set pieces. A priority for next season.

As many said first half was up there with best we played all season. If we had good players it really should have been about 4-0 in first half, poor finishing and decision making prevented this.

Then we started 2nd half same but then normal service was resumed and piss poor/laughable defending, and when q goes in a few follow. Special mention to Var for taking a whole 5 seconds to review their penalty yet for exactly same penalty for us they take 5 mins and end up giving keeper a drop ball.. I know game was dead and buried but Consistency.

The thing that's strange is it's quite common for penalties to be tricky 50/50 type decisions.
The protocol is VAR don't get involved in these "judgement" type decisions.
If the ref gives a penalty, they go with it, if the ref doesnt give a penalty then they go with it.

They should only become involved when there's zero contact and there's been a dive.
