Are really reduced to this, working out clubs that have signed strikers in the hope we are the last turkey in the window?
Pretty sure somewhere in this or the Maupay thread he was linked with Sevilla, that is why I mentioned them.

To be fair 9 times out of 10 a player would choose Sevilla over us for obvious reasons.

Your source said we didn't have to any money to spend. We then went out and bought Freeman. Ergo, your source is pulling your leg.

He did indeed and I discounted his rambling as shite but if we are serious about trying to sign a quality forward we are not going to get one for chicken feed.
The respective clubs have said they have received no bids , are they both lying.
We are in pre season training and this is a very important part team building for the new season.
I understand financial negotiations are complex , but this smacks of we tried for a few players but the monies wanted were to prohibited.
We look like we’re going to have go with what we’ve got.
I suspect we’ll get a few more low cost signings through the door but no big money strikers unfortunately.

Well it looks like my source is correct and we don’t have the funds to buy a McBurnie or Maupay unfortunately I was hoping he was full of shite
To me it looks like players agents are using our name to increase speculation and interest in their players hoping for fees etc

"I participate in a sporting activity with someone who represents people inside a much loved sport, however I also don't think that anyone needs to be a brain surgeon to work out that we are interested in his services, but the one thing that I was told, was about the proposed personal and professional terms/fees?

Only time will tell, like other transfers that have and have not come off for various reason"

Like stated on the Maupay thread on the 2nd July (and by Richard today), the personal/professional terms/fees (agent) were/are an issue.

I don’t think there are any grounds to assert either of those propositions, David.

Why would agents settle on our name for that purpose? There are many more clubs to choose from.

Let’s wait and see, eh?

1) “We haven’t got any money for signings”
2) “We’re never going to spend £15m on a striker”
3) “We bought Maupay too late, he hasn’t had a full preseason to settle in”
4) “Maupay missed a sitter, I can’t believe we only beat Man City 1-0”

Eat, sleep, moan, repeat.

I only moan about our lack of ambition, never the players efforts or managers drive and ambition but he is being seriously hampered by the pair at the top

The respective clubs possibly haven't received bids because they know they effectively have fuck all to do with the process nowadays. SU to Brentford - "Can we have Maupay for £15mil"? Brentford to SU - "Very possibly, but don't ask us, talk to his agent. If he wants a deal sort that out and come back cos if we say yes, no prob between us, the agent will only say he's worth more and stick his bloody image rights in and his future sell on percentage he is taking. Tell you what Chris, when the blood sucker is satisfied, come back and we'll give you our bank account details."

But can Bettis really prevent Real Betis neighbours from Seville, Sevilla, from signing Maupay?
Someone was querying wether they were a Spanish or Portuguese side as we are playing in Portugal, my response is to clear up the confusion.

I'm assuming we'll soon be making initial / tentative offers for other strikers (such as Marriott, Diedhou, Assombalonga, Austin, Gayle, Gallagher, Madine, Hogan or whoever) just 'gee things up a little' and get things moving possibly?? That said, the clock continues to tick so I'm pretty sure we're not just going to pin ALL our hopes on signing the 2 names that keep getting rolled out in the press . . . . . . Are we??!

Alan Knill is at the Pigs v Shrewsbury game tonight. Can't see any other reason he would be there other than looking at a player we may be interested in.

Joao's stats were high on the goalscorers list. He's hardly a workhorse though.

Maybe he's gone to support EEL? Or we're sending one of ours their way on loan.
