But settling the wages and agents cut is a key part of the deal, possibly the most important.

We’ve obviously no idea how far away each party is with their figures but with seemingly no interest from another Premier League club, it’s currently looking good for us. He’ll be doubling/tripling his wages with our offer, could receive a better offer if another club comes in, or could end up staying at Brentford if he holds out too long.

Just hope we’ve got a contingency in place so we can threaten to walk away if it drags on.

I am confident of the deal being done. I also feel we may be flying under the radar to get McBurnie.

Fooball, like the western world as a whole, is subject to the positives and negatives of capitalism - sorry getting politics a tad there!

There's nothing wrong with football making money as an industry but the amount that is made is the problem because, as with capitalism again, it's not regulated enough and the rich get richer and the poorer clubs survive on the scraps.

As for agents, they're part of the game and many are no doubt decent but I'd like to know how much they are regulated? Is there a body out there that you have to obtain a membership to that states you have achieved a certain standard like there is with becoming a manager? And, is there any regulation on practice, or fees earned, or is just as much as you can earn from clubs is fair game and how you do it is up to the agent?

I'm guessing there must be some regulations on agents, surely?

Nope, it's not at all contentious, I don't think anyone has ever said anything to the contrary, which is why it's strange that you're pointing it out.

I know you have a serious disliking for McCabe after he turned you down for a role at the Lane but bringing his previous comments about agents (which you even seem to agree with) feels a little unnecessary.

Our past transfer history isn't a particularly happy one? I'm not sure how you quantify that really. We didn't seem to do such a bad job last summer.

Any proof this poster is who you're suggesting he is?

To pick up the line of thought that we can’t get any deals done as the staff are out in Portugal, is a misconception I think.

Most business deals are done cross-border without a need to be in the same room. I get that football is a bit more ‘woolly’ but a lot of the personal ground work will have already been done.

Cant see Villa going for him after signing Wesley to replace Abraham.

I would imagine Sevilla will only go for him if they lose Ben Yedder to Man U. I don't really see that one happening and will only happen if Lukaku moves.

From the information from RC I think (total guess work) that they are waiting to see what comes of the Ben Yedder to Man U deal. Can't really blame Maupay for wanting to wait out for a potential move to Sevilla over United.

I think this one could drag on for a while.
Sure Sevilla just signed a forward from a Turkish side for eleven million

This is a very interesting post. How come you come across such documents?

Given the absolute rammell I've had to read to come across this, I think I deserve an answer
;)

I represent people in serious shit with HMRC, and this includes football clubs and players.

Indeed. It appears we do have money to spend though.

I remember a few weeks ago there was quite a few new posters who suddenly popped up to say
“there’s no way we’ll ever spend 10 million on a individual player because United never have any ambition and are destined to be relegated”.

Wonder if those posters will stick around if we sign both Maupay and McBurnie.
I reckon they’ll disappear until we have a big defeat or get relegated.

Whether they are legit fans I don’t know, but people are too quick to slag off the board when they have no actual evidence! We’ve broken our transfer record I’m consecutive seasons now and tbh I didn’t see many other teams thr

Well it looks like my source is correct and we don’t have the funds to buy a McBurnie or Maupay unfortunately I was hoping he was full of shite
To me it looks like players agents are using our name to increase speculation and interest in their players hoping for fees etc

Your source said we didn't have to any money to spend. We then went out and bought Freeman. Ergo, your source is pulling your leg.
