was only jesting mate I am self employed and have had a few run ins with vatman taxation yes but not to the extent this country robs the hard working bloke and let's the rich get away with murder and don't get me started on vat 20 fkn per cent

Amen to that. I’ve been in this game for 41 years, HMRC are currently cunts in a way that they never used to be. Not used that word before on here, but they are. The hostile environment propagated by this government extends way beyond immigration.

Sorry, that’s political 😜

I've genuinely never had a chupa chups, and probably never will after my dad banned me from having them. Wouldnt even touch them when he wasn't around. Why did they have to sponsor the pigs.

Haha I have just seen this...

For anyone quoting the Sun as a source for transfer rumours o_O

I'm not saying there's anything in Knilly watching Wednesday but I wouldn't be surprised if we went for Joao, he's probably the only one there I reckon we'd potentially be interested in. He has power and speed and when on form is a decent player. At 25 he's time to develop and he wouldn't cost as much as the likes of McBurnie or Maupay.

I was thinking about bidding for Jaoao the other day, as long as it’s not too much because he’s still a risk.
He’s talented and has loads of potential but he’s so inconsistent, just needs a rocket up his arse.
Think Wilder could bring the best out of him.

There’s a tweet going round re Wednesday’s player sales over the last decade and it was terrible.

I’ll never know why they didn’t cash in whilst some of them still had higher values and longer in their contracts last year. It would have eased ffp and their huge wage bill.

Joao as a cheap alternative could be an option. Wouldn’t be my first choice with some PL monies however.

Too much of a risk for me .

I see him as one of a long line of strikers who , down the ages , have been capable of moments of brilliance and the odd spectacular goal but who are also capable of being frustratingly anonymous and in the final analysis , fail to come up to the mark .

If we are considering signing a Wednesday player , for me there is only one and that is Adam Reach . Much as I appreciate the effort that Baldock puts in , I don't see him as the man who can fulfill the very demanding role of wing back in the Premier League and that if called upon to do so , he will be found wanting .

I have no such concerns about Reach and believe that he would be an exciting and successful addition to our team .

If you think we would get Joao cheap then think again. Chancer doesn't do sales unless they meet his inflated price.
If you could pick him up for 2-4 Million then maybe worth a punt, but I wouldn't pay anymore.
He has ability but disappears for long periods, not sure evan Wilder could change him.
Some Wednesday fans on Portalk seem to think we might go for Winnall who scored tonight along with Joao.
Personally I would stay clear of any Wednesday players just think you wouldn't get any value Chancer would want top end and more for any of their players.

Apart from the fact hes left footed so wouldn't be anywhere near Baldocks position!

He's actually a genuinely two footed player who can play on either flank and has done so throughput his career .

If you care to check , some of his most spectacular goals were made with his right foot , as were some of his most dangerous crosses , tackles and interceptions .

They think he's worth £10m though, so I can only assume Chansiri would think similar given how much they seemed to be asking for Rhodes who is a far less saleable asset.

I understand the argument you've given. But we hold all the cards now. Express interest in the press, alert the agents, agent tells player. Player has opportunity of PL football. Higher wages (you'd think). Player wants move. Gets tit on.... We need to stop thinking we're not in the PL now. This is how it works. Look at Brooks and Che. Both wanted to prove themselves higher and we couldnt get in the way.

That's us now.

You must be loaded Sheffsteel!

Must be honest, I've been impressed with him when I've seen him - although I haven't seen much of him. But he's one of these players who has tremendous speed and balance on the ball. I don't know why he hasn't pulled more trees up at Wednesday? Whether it's an ability or an attitude thing I don't know, or whether it's just that the poisoned dwarf didn't pick him because he was one of their best players and therefore that ruled him out, I don't know.

Wendy only hqve two players worth havng imo. Joao, who is a talented maverick and would be useful as he can be a match winner on his day, and Bannan who despite being a twattish type of player and a mardy little git, would be a tremendous boost to our midfield options this coming season, if bw was to switch to us. Both talented players.

The rest... not good enough for what we need. Rhodes not good enough, Reach not good enough and well overrated (his few long range goals masked mostly mediocrity), Hutchinson...too old and slow. Forestfairy...a mardy cheating greedy c**t who plays fo himseld and not the team. Leave well alone.

So only two worth having, and even then, they are hardly going to give them away to us are they? Leave them be to drain the life out of Wendy with their costs and wages.

There's a good chance Knill was looking at Shrewsbury players.

They have quite a few young ones. Maybe someone like Ro-Shaun (I know) Williams. He can run fast.

I'd still take Joao, to supplement McBurnie. Apply the Wilder filter and he's quite tempting.

Neither one would get in our 18. Bang average players in a mid table Championship side. Not even their best players.

I’m not advocating taking a Joao over a Maupay or McBurnie but in terms of actual risks is he that much bigger

The other two looked far better last year no argument, I think McBurnie is the better option myself, but Maupay had one very good season in a system that was very good

Joao looks more of a Watkins type to me tbh but I’m not sure he is more of a risk stepping up, just less of risk financially IMO

Joao would be ridiculously overpriced in both a fee and wages. Has ability but something doesn't add up with him. Imo would only be worth a gamble on a free or a sub 2 mill fee which won't happen with Mr Tuna.

Re. Maupay, think that encourages me is how Brentford fans talk as much about his movement as his finishing. We won't be able to afford the luxury of a striker who is only any use in the box.

The perfect storm.

Boss Hogg goes to Newcastle and we sign Bannan on the same day.

Now that would be funny. 😂😂😂😂😂

That would probably work with a lot of clubs but not Wednesday.
Chancer seems very stubborn and has is price for players and doesn't budge.
You only have to look how many players have been sold since he's been in charge.
Even Wednesday fans are baffled by it.

Ro-Shaun Williams sounds like he'd be an excellent Cornerback.

I'd definitely take Joao as the lesser of our two new forwards. In fact, McBurnie Joao and a flyer like Puscas (if that's still feasible) would do me fine.
