He has more than one on the table.
So basically Maupay is happy to come here and a deal has been agreed but there is potentially a better financial deal on the table from someone else. Said agent is therefore trying to get us to match the other offer and we're not budging.

Problem with Maupay isn’t with Brentford it’s with the agent but our camp are still very confident a deal will be reached. As I stated before the interest in Osborn is real and gathering pace. Not going to post for the sake of it but will when I have concrete news.

Cheers RC. Live scenes here...

All joking apart the "who's doing the talking" just sums it up and this was years ago.

Those pesky agents always seem to be a particular problem for United.

They're a problem for everybody. At this precise moment I am looking at an invoice from an agent to a Championship club for negotiating the early termination of a player's contract. Under the agreement the player received the full amount due on the remainder of his contract (and signed for another club the very next day).

The agent trousered £184,800 + VAT from the club for what looks like a very quick conversation.

The agent issue now probably explains why French outlets were reporting a deal has been reached, but no media outlets here were. Looks like said agent is desperately trying to create an auction despite us being the only team with concrete interest. Who can blame him though, those poor agents are in dire need of a bit of cash😐

The recent McBurnie story will likely be the club trying to apply pressure to get the Maupay deal done.

End of the day I can't believe some thought it would be that easy to just put a bid in for him and Brentford sell and everyone's happy. It almost never works out like that.

Vomit inducing.

As a matter of interest, what % of the pay off was that?

Mate RC has been 100% right for years. No other ITKer can touch him.

What makes me laugh is how some journalists wait for RC to post, then copy his info, as though they have exclusive info.
You can bet The Star will now run a story about his agent causing the delay, then other journalists will follow suit.
Or other posters go on Twitter copying RC’s info, then they try to take the glory pretending they have special contacts, it’s like Chinese whispers.

whoops! As his main priority not the clubs, don't suppose he wants to annoy the clubs because of future negotiations but if he reckons he can broker a better deal, well it's his job, just very frustrating for us and the club

I'm still struggling on this.

Why do clubs pay agents anything?

If the Agent works for the player then he should get paid by the player.

Now I can understand if a club desperately wants to offload players and employs an Agent to search for and wide for a taker.

But if we want to buy a player from another club, how has our purchasing from them got Jack shit to do with an Agent? I'm pretty sure we are capable of engaging another football club in the same country, in the same language.

My thoughts exactly!
What other industry would operate like this?
It's verging on criminal the way these parasites work!
