Is he just grafting to get a new contract or has he Acknowledged that he needs to get his ass in gear. If and only if it is the later I would reward him with a new contract which is heavily weighted in our favour of a v low basic and additions when he stays within certain pre qualified BMI criteria and appearance / goal bonuses. There is no doubt if it did click he would be an asset.

I assume it's combination of the two plus he has a child to look after now. Maybe he is waking up the to the fact he can't be out on Eccy Road boozing, having a kebab and crashing his car.

Also, the fact that it sounds like Hecky and his staff have given him a much needed kick up the arse.

This is the third Blades manager that has tried to get him going. If he didn't listen to Wilder or the intimidating Slav he won't take any notice of Hecky either.

We need to accept he’s not going to get himself fit and firing. Small sacrifices equal big rewards as a footballer, unfortunately his time is over at the Lane. Has all the potential to be an established premier league footballer but if he can’t motivate himself now he never will, real shame, a joy to watch in his first season with us all be it in 60-70minute stints.

Bit embarrassing from a professional footballer, literally his job to be fit.

Hopefully it’s a turning point for the lad, and he keeps up what he’s being doing the last coupe of weeks.

I rate is me, he can post as many Instagram posts as he wants if he’s getting fit and banging them in

Proof will be in the pudding, but it's hugely unlikely he'll do anything. His record here is absolutely atrocious. Same at Bournemouth. That's 5 years of taking £20k a week from employers whilst offering little-to-nothing in return.

Can’t get fit could have several meanings .,,

Mentally fit?
Physically fit ?

If physical are we talking weight? Cardio? Etc.

I don’t get what this photo proves or disproves?

It proves he hasn't been for a kebab this week.

When fit, he's by far our best striker.

Unfortunately we've only seen glimpses of what he can offer. Mainly around Sept/Oct 2019
I totally agree with you. Not all the other strikers would have finished the one touch finishes against Barnsley and Stoke with such panache. I think he’s the only one capable of scoring the other goal against Barnsley right now. You seldom see Billy, McBurnie finish like that. In the squad maybe N’Diaye or Gibbs-White.

It’s good the feedback is finally hitting home. It’s great he feels he’s in good shape. Now let’s see the video of him running around for 90 minutes without needing a sit down after an hour!

On his day, he can be unplayable but it’s no good if ‘his days’ span a fortnight each season. Such a waste. He could be brilliant. I really want him to succeed but it’s down to him. His goals per minute is excellent but he simply has to get the minutes up.

Could be in the shape of his life & Hecky still won’t play him, keep giving jobs for the 30+ year old boys. That much is very clear

On a separate note, I don’t think mousset is having a dig at anyone. I think after years off being called fat by fans and managers he’s just showing that’s he’s changing… I hope anyway. I wouldn’t look too deep into it

I don't think it's just aimed at the fans. He's had three managers digging at him about his fitness, maybe the message is finally getting through?

It's been a tough time for him here and at Bournemouth, can't help feeling he would have done better at a less pressing type club. There's a school of thought that high pressing British football plays A fair part in stifling the development of young skilful and or creative players.
It's been happening since the 60s. Kids are taught Fitness, speed, strength and endurance is what it takes to make it.
Spending the majority of the week focusing on those things comes at a cost. Flair, vision, confidence(arrogance even) on the ball to try something unexpected, It can get trained out of players through lack of encouragement to develop those attributes. They have trackers on theirs backs sending how far and fast they ran to be judged after the game... If that's the highest bar that a club or league measures, that's all we will develop in players. Imagine if talents like Currie, Best, Greaves etc were not strong enough characters to, at the time they played, have the belief in their abilities to not run constantly for the 90 mins, stand still, read the game, save their energy for the right moment.
I find news, reports and social media of Moose not eating the right... well what ever we're imaging professional players are supposed to eat... is that really so bad compared with Currie , Best, Fowler, Gazza, the list could go on. Do we know his injuries are down to diet and laziness any more than over training?

Someone in the club shop today mentioned Moose has had a bust up with Heckingbottom last week and that Heckingbottom saying he's asked to not be considered for selection is bollocks. This looks like Moose is replying to that conference, so might be summat in it.

He can fuck off now , the club has indulged him beyond reason

I've read that post 3 times, still not sure what PH has or hasn't said that's bollocks...

About Moose asking to not be selected, and not being unfit.

Moose' instagram looks as though he's cryptically telling us that Heckingbottom is lying? Shirt off, hush emoju, shoulder shake, etc.

wiers da erd dis pal?

I see it more as a response to the inevitable messages he gets from United fans calling him fat. There’s clearly something there with the staff and Moose though, whether it’s simply just about fitness or not I don’t know.

Because the youngsters have earned their place more? Who?
