The wifes family is all those fooking Scottish buggers!

:D:D:D

I trust you have introduced her to Sheffield United and shown her that life can always be better.

In fact maybe Sheffield United's marketing slogan could be "....... well at least we're not Hibs or Wednesday!!!"

It would immediately give fans a sense of perspective and eternal gratitude and have them flocking back to BDTBL.

Jeez, you bump into more Hobos on here than you do at Easter Road these days!!

:hello:

Being this obssessed with being the big team with the big crowds, shouldn't you really be OwlHearts??

She was born in Sheffield......her Mum was from Fife and her dad from Aberdeen....but ended up a pig in Sheffield.

Her cousins are a mixture of Celtic, Rangers, Hibs and uncles in Aberdeen.

I have been to East Fife matches in my day!

One man and a dog?

Can't argue, a proper marketing campaign will mix things up a bit, but having stipulated they won't be doing so......they won't be doing so

And if I may be so modest, the latter was one of my suggestions to RB first time there was a thread about questions to....a means of adding value to those who say "yes" without alienating those who say "no":)
They always have a cut off date, every season is the same.
Of course they will contact people who haven't renewed and I bet they will run offers to students, kids for quids etc if the season progresses and there is no United in the top two.
Do you think they can afford to take a chance ?
If I don't get my renewal in at the low price in August then I'll stand on the town hall steps and eat a packet of orange clubs while you stand naked watching me ..........

Thought you didn't mind other people getting a deal on their ST??

Its not really being obsessed its just a fact of life. In many ways it was Hearts incredible dominance (we only lost about 3 of the first 50 derbies I attended in the 80s/90s) over their Edinburgh rivals that influenced my choice of team when I first moved to Sheffield.

At the time Wednesday were still very much thought of as a Premiership team even though they had recently come down to Division One as was. I didnt want to be a glory hunter picking what may have been the easy option so decided to throw my lot in with the Blades - attended my first match less than 48 hours after arriving in Sheffield a 3-1 defeat against Crystal Palace with Shane Nicholson scoring for the Blades. United were awful but I loved the Lane and actually ended up in a lock in at The Albion until 3am in the morning, I was hooked already!!

Ironically enough this co-incided with a reversal of footballing fortunes in the Steel City, so maybe Im just a lucky omen!

But surely to do that they would have to refund those who have purchased at the higher price in the interim?

If the club backs down now, what credibility will it have in future when it offers incentives to renew.
