Well they were a good bunch on the train home and no hassle to me and the kids. We listened to the grand national together and cheered home the winner. The big difference between them and West Ham, Chelsea, Leeds, etc. is that they’re taking the piss; they don’t take themselves seriously. Bit like us for which I’m proud. Petty violence blown out of proportion. Treat people like animals and you know what they behave...
anyone would think we were playing the fucking Parachute Regiment..

Morrison didn't help matters in the ground yesterday did he? Of course he should celebrate in front of them but after all the pitch invaders had been mopped up he preceeded to go back a second time with his muscle man pose. Funny how he was slagging them off after Wembley as well

Indeed, what a jovial bunch they were as they wandered past The Sentinel, frothing and gesturing, throwing missiles at random targets including kids, passing the time of day with offers of "come on cunts" and such like. How we all laughed when a window was hit and cracked by a missile heavy enough to do serious damage. And what was great was that it wasn't just their younger element. The older chaps were joining in too. It wasn't just a few either, they were all at it.

I think I'll invite them to tea!

And people defend this pond life..

There were representatives from the Met yesterday at the station as the Millwall fans arrived;my mate who is a Millwall fan was recognised and addressed by his first name as we strode across the concourse.
Hey I know someone called Youcockneycunt Tompkinson as well. Small world....

Makes me laugh mate too.

Rightly or wrongly I've no issue with a group of like minded blokes scrapping it out away from the normal fans.

I do, however, have a big problem with grown men of all ages throwing missiles willy nilly into crowds of mixed people not looking to fight.

I wonder how some of these who play it down would feel if they were having a drink with family and friends, and group of blokes came out of the pub across the road and started chucking all sorts at them. Because it's at football it's tolerated by some, or made out to be nothing worth criticising.

I've always said I feel for the sound Millwall fans tarnished by their high ratio of cunts. Trouble is you rarely hear the decent ones criticise the scum element.

Did you miss the rape alarm the silly old bitch kept setting off?

A woman of her age behaving like that deserves to be arrested for falsely shouting she was being abused.

I think the rape alarm went off after her arrest, but don't let that stop you being a police apologist. Any comment about the Pastor assaulting a police officer with a tambourine?

Much more serious than Millwall steaming into a Spar shop to help themselves to the booze while the police look on and do fuck all.

I'm anything but an SYP apologist. I think the hierachy who make decisions for matches are too often a joke.

I've also seen the full video on Facebook of the incident with that woman, and whilst it's not comparable to the behaviour of some Millwall fans, I still found her behaviour truly pitiful for a woman of her age.

Ageist twat.

Just wait til you get old and then you may understand.

There is, or at least should be a clear separation of 'pitiful' behavior and 'illegal' behavior. Blowing a musical instrument whilst trees are being felled by men in PPE, might certainly amount to the 1st, but sure as hell shouldn't amount to the 2nd. If blowing a plastic trumpet now constitutes a public order offence worthy of arrest, then we should all be very worried where this country is heading.

And setting off a rape alarm shouting she was being abused when Police tried moving her on.

I assume they arrested her legally under some law.

I'm certainly not comparing it to football fans going too far but I think using her as an example isn't particularly appropriate.

Unless it's the pig band, obviously. They should be strung up.

i was selling programmes on bramall lane and found milwall fans actually more friendly than a lot this year they have a lot in common with us and fan even said good luck your a decent side the police were heavy handed and stopped milwall fans trying to get to us to buy programmes .

You obviously don’t know SYP.

So you know she wasn't?

Sorry but I have no sympathy for pathetic individuals like her behaving like a child at nearly 60. From what I saw she deserved to be removed.

No, but I’m saying that there is a possibility that she was arrested under a law that would not hold up in court and no charges will be realised.

It happens all the time at the football.

Do you know what she was?

Whilst I agree that in an ideal world objects etc. should not be being thrown; the reality is that we do not live in an ideal world. Humans are apes & regularly demonstrate ape like behaviour (I have even seen 'civilised' accountants get angry because someone has parked outside THEIR house).

I was first taken to The Den in 1986. Therefore, the worse ground in the worse decade for football violence. And guess what, I can say on my children's lives I never saw any trouble as a kid. Why? Because my uncle and granddad were responsible adults. They didn't think to take me to pubs in New Cross that away fans would have to travel past. They never decided to exit the ground and make sure they were on the corner that away fans had to go past to get to the trains. If we played someone like West Ham or Chelsea they made sure they got to the ground earlier than usual and gave me some sweets to keep me happy, while they read a newspaper/fanzine or chatted. They simply made sensible decisions to avoid any situations that may be dodgy.

Yet on Saturday, there were people with kids at pubs where Millwall fans had to past (by order of the Police I may add), gawking outside and some even joining in with the taunts. And after the game Millwall fans were again directed by the police past large groups of Sheffield United fans deliberately gathered at various locations on route, their phones out and taunts flying. Some of these actually had their kids with them.

I would never even think to say to my little one, 'hey, Leeds are in town today and they will be escorted through Borough Market, let's make sure we are there to watch'. No. I would either decide to drive & park on the Surrey Canal side of the ground, thus avoiding Leeds fans completely, or travel on the train, but make my journey a bit earlier, get inside the ground and buy them some sweets and browse my phone. After, I may dally a bit, go to club shop or watch the results come in and then make my way to the station, knowing the BTP had whisked Leeds fans away.

I understand if you are simply making your way to the ground and all of a sudden the Millwall escort appears, then that's not really your fault (although, as said, perhaps change the time you get to ground?); but you can still move away as best as possible. So many were all too happy to join in with taunting or at least watch it close up.

I know the argument will be 'you shouldn't have to do all that'. Well, grow up. Sorry. If it's a high profile game against a high profile trouble team you do. You have that responsibility.

I agree with pretty much what you are saying 1980, except this bit "Humans are apes" - this may be true from a scientific, biological, classification point of view, but not in the sense that it can be used to explain bad behaviour. Humans are advanced cognitive beings which means we can choose how we behave. If we behave like apes, we are worse than apes, because we had the choice and opted for the lesser option.

Its been said before SYP have their reasons for doing what they do but they do appear to be inept. From the numbers they employ on match day the netting off of the front rows upper and lower btw (proved ineffective again)the blocking off on BL exiting left the barriers holding back, using neighbouring forces etc etc. No accountability for any decisions or actions they take we are after all the lowlife that attends football and despite success in real life will always be considered thus.

There is a lot of evidence to suggest we are actually biological algorithms - at the mercy of our 'instincts'.

Anyway, you are kinda of supporting all my points. I was not trying to excuse the behaviour; but arguing people should make more sensible choices - use that consciousness.
