Gone Elsewhere Mcburnie

We already have Moore for that role but we play some really nice possession based football these days and remember Mcburnie was at his best playing for Swansea who are hardly kick and rush.

I totally agree a pacey string type would be great but maybe there's not as many of them around that are available and we can afford?
Yep. McBurnie's best performances for us were when he had someone to link up with (Ndiaye, Mcatee).
In his Swansea days they played with out and out wingers which meant he ended up with lots more chances, resulting in a better goal to game ratio.

He's a lot better with the ball than most gave him credit for.
Certainly a shit load better at link up play than our current number 9.

Unfortunately the majority of Ol's career with us were either spent not fully fit or used as a born again Jon Parkin type lump up front, isolated.

I'd prefer us to go in a different direction (someone more mobile and pacey), but if Ol comes back I'll still be pretty satisfied.
Mainly just because it'll hopefully see Moore drift into the background.

Moore + McBurnie= No pace. We lack proper pace all over the pitch The other night highlighted that.
If we sign Mcburnie it's not certain he'd play alongside Moore but possibly instead of Moore. We're also been linked with various wingers which is where the pace will most likely be alongside Brooks and JRS.

McBurnie's Winter Appearances.
Nov to March

19/20 - 9 out of 19
20/21- 7 out of 22
21/22 - 3 out of 19
22/23 - 7 out of 19
23/24 - 4 out of 18

The guy has winter off every year and would be a terrible January signing.

At first I thought they were goals and wondered what you were moaning for 🤣

If the new owners have serious ambitions of making us into an established Premier League club, such aspirations must surely demand, pacey, athletic, hungry, young strikers with long term potential and a sell on value?

If McBurnie is even on their radar, I would be very disappointed. As I also would if they’re not looking to shift out Keiffer Moore this month.

Not for me.

He was always injured or suspended, and when he actually played his goal per game ratio was very poor.

I don't want him back.

For those saying we should get him back, removing your ex Bladey Bladeness for a minute

Would you want this striker to solve your lack of goals?

Least he’s cut out the cards

this would be like bringing Grbic back cos Coopers let a few in recently 😂

Danny Hall, esteemed correspondent and all round great journalist has said it’s unlikely Las Palmas will let McBurnie leave. But that Cannon kid is potentially on the cards.

McBurnie would be a backwards step in so many ways, and let's be honest, he was crap for 90% of his time here. His only good spell was more to do with having a top class player at the side of him. BUT, he's still an upgrade on Moore, so if we can't get anyone else then I'd accept him as a last resort.

I don't think he's the long term answer. But I honestly doubt we'll dig out a 25 goal a season striker who's a hard working physical specimen to boot in the JTW.

Most people I know seemed disappointed when we didn't resign him in the summer.

He's a better scorer and more mobile than Moore. Not a goal poacher like Campbell, but his all round game is far superior. I think he's quicker than people think.

At the end of the day we need experienced bodies in this squad. He's a known quantity. Honestly don't know what people are getting upset about other than they don't like him as a person

McBurnie is slow. He gets into unnecessary rucks with refs (we've got Hamer for that) he is not a proven goal scorer at our club not enough to warrant a return. Too similar to Moore for my liking. We need a fast pacey striker. I do not think we will get that but McBurnie is not the answer no thank you. Leave him be in the sun.

Weird article. Talks unnecessary lots about off the field stuff and I can't see where it mentions other players as alluded in the headline.

He'd be a major upgrade on Moore, but that really shouldn't be the benchmark on what we're looking for in a forward to bring in...

Our current striker shouldn't be a benchmark?

I presume it's your way of letting everyone know you don't rate Moore, just not done very logically.

Moore is fine as an option, but we're a much better attacking threat with someone quicker and more willing to run in behind like Campbell.

Hearing other player is or Didsey Billy 👀

He’s a billion times better than Moore so in no way is it a step backwards. Moore needs binning off this January. See if Hull still wants him would be my first step
I'd have to say that's a slight exaggeration...!

It's a step backwards in time. McBurnie left. As good as he could be and unnecessarily essential that he was... We thought we'd moved on. That's all I meant by "going backwards".

Yep Las Palmas won't let him go without getting another striker in first which seems unlikely.

Let's put this in the 'not going to happen ' bin and finally move on.

If you had to choose with the current squad.... mcburnie up top or Moore... I'd always in all aspects say Mcburnie. So I can't understand why anyone says its a step back, when we got the mcburnie from wish this season.... on a 3 year fucking contract.

Given some of his behaviour and antics over the time he spent employed by the club i don't think "brain dead lump' is too inaccurate and I could have used a lot worse language.

Do you spend your evenings looking out for things to feel offended by? Either way, I'm not at all bothered. Shove your 'faux offence' up your arse.

utb
Not offended pal , but I can see your vocabulary is a little limited.

In that recent interview with McBurnie (and McKenna), he was saying he was enjoying life in Gran Canaria and wanted to leave the Lane for a change of scenery and a fresh start, so I’d be surprised if he came back.
