They keep skiing each other off about Spence and apparently Lowe has been better so it needs to be a decent amount.
I know little about Spence other than he’s having a good season. But I find it hard to see how Lowe - the one we saw at least - is better than someone who was yesterday linked with a move to Bayern Munich and Liverpool.

We never got to see him in championship over a long period.

It's so very United that statistically, at least rating wise we have the best right and left backs in the division; one plays for someone else and the one which does play for us is out for the season.

🤦‍♂️

Think Forest are in for a shock.
They think that they will still be able to pick up players on the cheap now they are a Prem club.
5 Million for a player that helped them win promotion is IMHO a very reasonable price.
Add a couple of million on as a "Prem Tax"
They charged us 3 million for Osborn and Robinson who we wanted as squad fillers. They want to purchase a starting leftback who helped them to promotion. I think 5 million is cheap

Another one of these 'journalists' that writes an article full of speculation with no knowledge of the actual situation to boost advertising revenue of their website.

I honestly think anything above £3 million we have to snatch their hand off;

  1. Forest will be concerned he's injury prone
  2. He's allegedly on decent wages and in the top band of our earners
  3. He won't be motivated to play for us next season
  4. I think general opinion is he did well for Forest last season, but not outstanding like Djed Spence etc. Forest may want to sign him but they won't be desperate to.

I think keep him here with a view to starting in July. If it doesn't work then ship him out in January.

I genuinely can't understand why he's worth £5 million because he played half a season for a club who got promoted, who are now in the EPL.

1. Dodgy groin
2. Only managed half of last season
3. Look completely out of place when he played for us in the EPL
4. Not a first choice at Derby before we signed him
5. If he stays, if he just going to huff on the bench? I can't see him displacing RND for the start of the season because that would be a strange decision

Feels a but like Waghorn to me. £2.5-3 million upfront with add ons feels about right.

I don't think he'd start for them next season anyway. They'll sign two for that position.

Agree with points but we had to pay premium prices for Brewster and McBamby both out for long spells with serious injuries.

If yer want him put your hand in your pocket and we need to do a Klopp

I mean you’ve answered your own question in the first paragraph.

Played (well by all accounts) for a team who’ve got promoted and now want to sign him.

Why wouldn’t the asking price go up? And 5m buys you a quarter an Oli McB these days 🤣

Forest fan here with a first post so hopefully not going in too controversially with post 1.

Lowe couldn't really get in because Colback was playing so well. Can't see him joining as a first choice given his injury record. For me we would only pay the premium to retain some of the squad that went up last season as the whole squad is very different. We have a similar situation with keinan davis and if I could pick one to spend that premium on it would be him.

I think we could pick up a better squad player than Lowe for less personally.Later in the window I reckon you might take less, if it means you can sign one of league ones best players for instance.

How mad is the preseason before the prem by the way? Everyone is £20m!!!! I feel uncomfortable not to be taking on 12 olympiakos cast offs. Still time in the window yet mind.

Well we had to gamble so why shouldn’t you

We spent £3m on Lowe after a half decent season at Derby. He's now had a half decent season at Forest (same level), but has shown he's injury prone.

He's also now a couple of years older. I'd say his market value is probably £5m, but if that offer doesn't arrive we'll panic and sell him for £3m later on in the window. Nobody but Forest is going to give us anything like that money so they have the power... they have the power regardless to be fair. We're skint and they're not.

Get your hand in your pocket laddy 👍

I do rate Lowe as a player by the way and I would happily have him in the squad but I don't want us to get ripped off on these things. Given his injury record I would do more to try and sign someone like toffollo from huddersfield and see what the Lowe situation is when we get to later in the window.

Having had 1 really great season in 2 decades does mean forest fans need to recalibrate what £5m means though. But given that we are likely to come down again we can't be daft.

If you bought him for 3m a couple of years ago, assuming he had a 4 year deal you will only have say £1.5m on the books for him so if you are looking for ffp profit, anything over that is upside in this seasons accounts. I don't know too much about it but I reckon you won't have too many people knocking down the door for him so you'll be having to take a 750k loss plus his wages this year if you can't shift him but want to.

Why did you let him out on loan last season out of interest?

Ask the bloke who nutted our captain, he has more interest in forest than we do.
If you had not realised we are not interested in you your opinions or your football club

I actually signed up on the night of that game to make some kind of grovelling 'we love billy' type nonsense in the emotion of it all. it's taken a while to get approved (probably right in the circumstances). As it's come through I thought I might comment on a couple of things that are of some mutual relevance.

I'm sure I'll fuck off soon :)

If your club can find cheaper and better then great, if not and you want him, we don’t have Mcabe owning us anymore so we’re not selling players for peanuts …maybe its due to you not being in the prem for the last decade but, even half decent players don’t come cheap, £4M or fack off.

You’re gonna find out soon that you’re gonna need massive investment in players….half your team have pissed off back to their parent clubs…. my prediction will be dry bummed and down by March…

One thing about Max Lowe that intrigues me is the insane tackling numbers he puts in when he plays in the championship. 1v1 he seems to dominate but is creatively better than RND too. I’d much prefer to go with Lowe/RND and move Stevens on but it’s a difficult choice for the club when one of them is attracting interest and the other you’d struggle to give away. 5D8FB6E3-1C72-427A-8A91-B7CA492F6E68.jpegCAE1DDB1-69AF-4206-9BBD-5802D6A9A23A.jpeg
