So we enter the new year in first position, and the relatively short trip to Bury is the first test of our credentials in terms of promotion cum champions. The results have been ground out recently which is a sign of strong team, but could easily have become or may become a stutter. A little more fluidity, or perhaps simply a little more quality in the last third should put that right. Something CW will surely address in the not too distant future ;)

Anyway the trip to Gigg Lane represents an excellent chance to keep the run going against a Bury side, if my research is correct, who have not won in 18 games (all competitions) losing 15 of those! Horrendous form!

Anyway...

Any team news? :)

Done back in for Clarke?

Shuffle a few tired bodies around?

Scougall a start?

??

In Seasons gone by we often seem to defy our league position when it comes to playing either stronger or lower position sides. As far as the latter is concerned we seem to have addressed that under CW (there'll always be hiccups of course) and though I expect a physical battle this afternoon I believe our quality will translate into a 3-0 Blades victory. Safe journey lads and lasses, I'm sure yoo'll be loud, so I hope the boys do you proud.

There were a few tired looks around against Northampton but then we seemed to have the extra energy towards the end. The solution is to be 4-0 up at half-time so we can make some subs. Would give Lavery his first start if it were up to me.

Someone on the rumour mill is claiming Sharp will be rested today

If we do rest a couple of players this could go from being to what most thought would be a comfortable win to one of the bigger test this season. Would be interesting to see if we have the depth to deal with a couple of key players getting injuries

mcnulty on bench looks like wright and scougall are back in the side, sharp and lavery up front clarke injured

glad to see wright back

I can see why we have had to change the team.

A few players looked a bit knackered on New Years Eve.

Sounds like Lavery's having a decent game so far, lets hope he gets a goal
