Second half has been 100 pc improvement all over the pitch,we played with intent,at a higher tempo,more movement with short quick passes and off the ball runners that got us right to the heart of their defence and punished them.
We played well,and O'Hare was great,this is what standard we have set ourselves going into the league,more of this please

It's a step up from friendly games preparation wise so that's a plus

A 3-0 win is also good optics and should lift them a bit

For a League Cup game for us that was actually miraculous

Enjoyable final pre season game mixed with competitive fixture that tbf.

Hope Chong and Femi aren't out long though they joined together well

Far from perfect but decent enough, the third goal was important to have a positive for Donovan and O'Hare who were otherwise a bit crap as they're our main attackers with no Hamer and Chong injured.

Obviously needs a few players to be able to compete against good Championship teams but you can only beat the team you're playing and we did that.

Replace RND McGuinness Rothwell and Cannon and the team isn’t too bad. Peck and O Hare stood out, Blaster dare we say it looked better. We cannot afford to lose anymore of our better players.

Good cameo there from One. Cannon is a pretty poor striker, but does have a decent pass and brings other players into the game.
If we haven’t got a pot to piss in, then why not play One to do the rough stuff up front, with the more cultured Bamford alongside him, and drop Cannon into midfield where he might not feel the pressure of having to score every game?

Cannon has scored 26 goals in the Championship over the past four seasons.

That's not going to turn any heads but it's still not bad for a 23 year old.

Although I think they did quite well against Div 1 opposition, I totally agree with you.

Swap McG and Canno for Souttar and One will hopefully improve us further.

Job done, some positive signs. Gaps are there for all to see in the squad though e.g. desperate for 2 starting wingers. Good to see Cooper back and fit as well, makes a huge difference

Was a decent performance all things considered.

Thought Rothwell did well in the first half but ran out of gas.

This should be O'Hare's team now from an attacking POV. Just wish he would shoot every now and then instead of looking to pass every time and a 4 yard tap in doesn't change that.

Few pieces needed but its a decent floor at least.

A good result and a solid second half. Well done Blades!!

A few observations from me:

- Typical first game of the season but got the job done and played some nice stuff in the second half.

- Rothwell was poor in the first half but much better in the second half.

- Really like COH but needs to shoot more, as others have said. Think he’ll do well agin this season.

- RND needs to move on.

- Enjoyed watching Hamer but think we look more balanced without him (although will
miss his magic moments).

- Donovan looks like he has something to offer (shame about Chong).

- Tin hat on… I think Cannon will come good. Almost getting Ched vibes (for the good reasons).

- Don’t sell Peck!!!

One and Arblaster both did well when they came on imo.

Overall it was a pretty solid and professional workout against a side who fancy themselves having a decent go this season and we stood up to the test.

Peck looked a level above and ran the game.

Shame Chong got injured he was daily lively before that and those body feint to left foot curling cross were pretty dangerous with someone like Bamford to attack them.

Also thought McGuiness put on a professional, head down performance too considering wilder has publicly said he’s not wanted so bit of credit to him for that too

When you’ve done as much and travelled as much as me over the years you can comment. Still support but I can see crap and bad decisions and call them. We can be and should have been so much better since 2016. We’ve been let down. I’ll be there when we’re in the National League. If I live that long.
