Fair point Sitters. I don't disagree.

It is just the £70 on Fuel, the grub and drinks say £30. Tickets me and the boy £50. The hotel say £100. I could have a week in Skeggy for that.

But it is worth it, for just what you mention. The memory, to say I was there. We may never get back to the top table of football. A Cup draw against MU. It will be years before we play them again and we could be long gone by then.

HH

A week in Skeggy for £250 HH? Where are you staying, in a skip?

Those ticket prices are disgraceful for a televised game. In two minds about whether to go now. The clubs should be ashamed of themselves. Man United fans don’t feel they are getting their moneysworth lately and we’re having it a hell of a lot worse with what’s being served up to the point that most of us can barely even look forward to games at the moment. Then we get a draw, a distraction from our atrocious “performance” this season and something to look forward to and they kick us in the teeth like this.

I’m so fucking close to fucking the lot off and taking up non-league football. The modern game is a disgrace and completely tramples on the lifeblood of the clubs. If it was just me, I’d definitely fuck it off just on principle but my lad is giddy with excitement at the prospect of going to Old Trafford and I don’t want to let him down. Torn on this one.
Fucking pack it in and watch Sheffield fc instead.

I'm off to Sandygate today to watch Hallam. Going to see Sheffield FC next week. Proper football.

Probably on my own here, but I don't think it's the end of the world for a one off game with where football pricing has gone these days.

It's one of the best stadiums in the country, playing one of the top sides in the country. We've already paid £25 & £23 for a wooden seat behind a pole at Swindon and Peterborough this season, that's more put together than the top ST holder price at OT.

If we were to get back to the Prem and had to pay it every week i'd be having more a of a moan, but for what is now likely to be the biggest game of our season, and barring any other cup draws maybe even a couple of seasons to come, I have no issue paying the £47 to see the Blades.

* I should add that I totally understand the views of folks who have other priorities and therefore disagree and won't pay, this was aimed more at people who are shocked at the prices and encouraging others to boycott.

This is not all Newton Heath's fault... I draw your attention to FA Cup Rule 20c. Important bits bolded for ease of reference...

Immediately after the draw is known, the two Clubs concerned must mutually agree the prices of admission subject to the following conditions:

(i) Except where mutually agreed otherwise the minimum admission (except to children and senior citizens) to matches shall be:
In the Extra-Preliminary, Preliminary and First Round Qualifying: £3.00
In the Second and Third Rounds Qualifying: £5.00
In the Fourth Round Qualifying: £6.00 In the First and Second Round Proper: £10.00
In the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Round Proper: £15.00

(ii) A higher admission charge may be mutually agreed between the Clubs concerned. The Away Club’s spectators can only be charged more than the home team if agreed by both clubs.

So basically, the board are after the payout? If we all boycott the game Man Utd would still sell 70k tickets of which we get a massive chunk of the revenue. They always sell out as they have auto-renew procedures in place and it could jeopordise going to the final if they didnt buy a ticket.
Our board could've said fuck right off - £25 tops, but no.

thing is .. man utd will play their reserve team, so you are paying all that money to watch a youth/reserve team that would normally be pretty much free entry... if they guaranteed to play their first 11 i think the price is fair enough. but they won't.. that's why it is taking the piss.

They can fuck off - sufc agreeing to fleece our fucking fans.

No way can I justify shelling out 37 quid for a TV match plus 20 quid train fare - CUNTS
sufc haven't agreed to this. They do not have a choice. I look.forward to your retraction

To be fair, there isnt much that wasnt true before he said it, and its not far off now

I'd leave it

It's not the modern game as a whole is it? Isn't this just the Glaziers way if doing things. Didn't they hike ticket price for their own fans from the outset? And isn't this why FC United of Manchester was formed, by people *doing something* as opposed to moaning...and then going anyway.

Other teams and owners have a different attitude.

I’d say it’s becoming more and more of the modern game. Look at Dodgy Chancer and the prices he's charging at the sty. Bates at Leeds and now this new clown they’ve got. All the London clubs. Tan at Cardiff, that nutter at Hull. The Glazers. It’s becoming more and more about selling the product overseas and to hell with the real fans who make the club what it is. It’s hard not to be disiusioned and I am seriously tempted to switch to non-league but the blades are so ingrained into me, I find it nigh on impossible to give up even when we’re at such a low.

But I can’t bring myself to pay more for a 3rd round FA cup tie up north than I paid for my Wembley semi-final ticket. That really does extract the urine.

Well Im paying to see my team play at one of the best stadiums in the world ,40 miles away in front of the biggest crowd in Europe in the oldest competition in the world. In 20 years if Im still alive I will hopefully remember it ,I wont remember the 40 quid I saved to buy an unwanted Xmas present or some beer. Were not playing great ,so what I go to watch Sheffield United not Manchester United. Paid 23 quid to go to the shithole in Barnsley 2 weeks ago ,whats another 15 quid ?

Each to their own sitwell. I just can’t bring myself to do it on principle. By paying those prices we’re telling them it’s OK to charge it. That’s my take anyway and as much as I want to see the game, I can’t bring myself to do it. I could just about afford it but I feel too resentful to do it. If feel aggrieved enough lining the pockets of some of our players when they put in less than 100% but this is a step too far for me.
