I've already told the lad we're going now....................shit! :)

I wonder if they've got free travel from the clubs coaches ;)

Those ticket prices are disgraceful for a televised game. In two minds about whether to go now. The clubs should be ashamed of themselves. Man United fans don’t feel they are getting their moneysworth lately and we’re having it a hell of a lot worse with what’s being served up to the point that most of us can barely even look forward to games at the moment. Then we get a draw, a distraction from our atrocious “performance” this season and something to look forward to and they kick us in the teeth like this.

I’m so fucking close to fucking the lot off and taking up non-league football. The modern game is a disgrace and completely tramples on the lifeblood of the clubs. If it was just me, I’d definitely fuck it off just on principle but my lad is giddy with excitement at the prospect of going to Old Trafford and I don’t want to let him down. Torn on this one.

It's not the modern game as a whole is it? Isn't this just the Glaziers way if doing things. Didn't they hike ticket price for their own fans from the outset? And isn't this why FC United of Manchester was formed, by people *doing something* as opposed to moaning...and then going anyway.

Other teams and owners have a different attitude.

One of the times it's good to be old :) No-one wants my loyalty points then??
Really it's quite funny though. All the clamouring for tickets and it's not fair this, that and the other and now we'll be lucky to sell a couple of thousand. This'll sort the wheat from the chaff :)
I'm gluten free, so keep the wheat away from me:)

Not that different, given that more and more we are seeing circa £25 as a standard ticket price in League 1. I understand why club chairman do it, given the riches on offer in the Premier League - but football is hardly known for it's altruism where ticket prices are concerned. I would say clubs, on the whole, charge as much as they feel they can get away with, not what they consider a "fair" price.

There was lots of reasons... The glaziers been able to purchase the club and plunge it into astronomical debt was just the straw that broke the camels back :(

If you have never been to a FC United match, I highly recommend it, only 45 mins from Sheffield on a good run! Might trade seasons tickets next year.....

Can't even make it at that time since I work Saturdays from 8pm. Perhaps we might take less than we had for Oldham? Keep your Old Trafford stubs for the 4th round ;)

This game should be boycotted. It's a fucking joke. Champions league prices for an FA cup 3rd round tie. Aston villa was a great day out, appropriate ticket pricing and friendly stewards who assisted us greatly (result was ok too!).

So fans complain there's no money spent but moan when we have the opportunity to make some money!!

£37 quid is about the going rate for football these days,

Am I the only one who is relaxed about this?

I agree this is expensive but If you want to watch Johnny and his Mates play covers down the Dog and Duck then it's gonna be cheap. If you want to watch the Rolling Stones at the no-name arena it's gonna cost an arm and a leg

Stuff em. I'm boycotting this and watching it on BT Sport with a chicken tikka madras and a shit load of budweiser.

I'm saving the £100+ and lumping it towards my season ticket renewal :D

The thing that gets me is the time of the match, 5.30pm. Crap again.

I was really looking forward to this game, but now I don't know - may have to consider a stay-over which just adds to the cost and time.

The fans never come first these days , it is all about TV and money. :(

man u ticketing staff probably took a peek at this forum and set the prices accordingly:mad:

Yeah but the Rolling Stones are a set of wankers whose best days are behind them...

...like Man Utd come to think of it.

Personally (given my personal circumstances) I'd rather put food on the table. If I was as 'comfortably off' as you appear to be I may consider it reasonable for me. But here is the difference, I wouldn't consider everyone else was in the same boat and I would be concerned for them. Each to their own I suppose. Have a Merry Xmas.

At the risk of sounding like an argumentative sod, how have you surmised I'm comfortably off? Maybe I'm skint but accept that this is how capitalism works....

5.30pm is a great kick off time, train from Sheff, supping in Manc all day, match then train back to Sheffield for a celebratory drink.

Man U have a scheme whereby the cost of a ticket for cup games is automatically deducted from season ticket holder's accounts - ie they have no option but to pay these prices or they face a 'ticket suspension' or will be further down the queue for big away games and cup finals. They have to agree to it to buy a season ticket in the first place. Bonkers scheme, bonkers ticket prices. They are absolutely taking the fucking piss.

Our game v man u has been confirmed as sat 9th jan 5.30 kick off live on bt sport. tickets are expensive but iam sure we will sell em all. Let the cup run begin....
5,30pm = 7.30pm in South Africa excellent, couldn't be better, between tests and early evening kick off :)

Well Im paying to see my team play at one of the best stadiums in the world ,40 miles away in front of the biggest crowd in Europe in the oldest competition in the world. In 20 years if Im still alive I will hopefully remember it ,I wont remember the 40 quid I saved to buy an unwanted Xmas present or some beer. Were not playing great ,so what I go to watch Sheffield United not Manchester United. Paid 23 quid to go to the shithole in Barnsley 2 weeks ago ,whats another 15 quid ?

Me too mukka we're doing the weekend

This might be because I was expecting worse with all the scare stories but I was pleasantly surprised at £38 for season ticket holders all though the general sales top price of £65 is horrific & shows football has gone hugely wrong. I remember an advert at Fleetwood jpt game that at their next league game for £56 you get 3 course meal, programme, HT food & directors box seat

But we shouldn't be on tv though (or spurs v Leicester for that matter as well) because it shouldve been Eastleigh v Bolton or salford/Hartlepool v derby. As it always infuriates me every yr as how hard Is it for tv companies pick the games that have minnows at home v big opposition not giants at home or 2 giants together they are not "the story of the round" they always ask "has the magic of fa cup" gone no its not gone your just ignoring it

Fair point Sitters. I don't disagree.

It is just the £70 on Fuel, the grub and drinks say £30. Tickets me and the boy £50. The hotel say £100. I could have a week in Skeggy for that.

But it is worth it, for just what you mention. The memory, to say I was there. We may never get back to the top table of football. A Cup draw against MU. It will be years before we play them again and we could be long gone by then.
