We've been talking about our midfield a lot recently, and with our new additions and the sale of Whiteman, where do we thinks Louis's future lies?

Contracts up in the summer I believe so not gonna get a fee. Stay at Chez then leave on a free in the summer I would expect

Pre Adkins I would have said future captain, but adkins knocked his confidence meant be the same. Plus with Adkins not giving him a game, wilder didn't see him in his plans either, but in wilders first season no one came in for him . So that's 2 full seasons without a game

I think rather than it be one competitor for the midfield out the way, the Whiteman sale is a clear indication that young players will only be given up to a point to get into the first team squad. I think Reed will be sold/released in the summer.

Was thinking the same, it's a shame because at one point he was playing some good football and looked like he would be regular in our midfield, just shows how a knock in confidence can affect a young player.

Always difficult when doing so well early, seen a lot of great young one season talents in the PL fading away.No reason he can't develope like Fleck, who plays to his strengths in a system well suited.Liked Reed vs Spurs, seems he was better suited against better opposition. He's actually taller than Fleck, and still only 20.

Reed is a clever footballer and ball player who would suit our system down to the ground, the type Pinchy likes but he doesn’t like Louis because he came through our youth set up and it’s too Bladey. I think I’ve covered everything. :)

Seriously, don’t write Reed off yet, he’s still learning but it would be better for him to be learning at a better ran club in a league higher up.

highest he will play is league one. Good luck to him. Still only 20

Wont be on a big wage- surely worth a years extension? Leave him at Chesterfield all season. Worst case scenario, he comes back for pre season and CW passes on him, we sell him for a small fee with a big sell on. Best case, he comes back for pre season and CW thinks he’s developed enough to keep around for a bit longer.

Been speaking to,someone at chesterfield who, says how well he is playing this season, especially since jack lester took over.
Still looks like a boy but definitely improving and fulfilling potential, whether he is good enough for us in the championship / premiership not sure, but would definitely command a fee if we signed him up.

Youngest player ever to represent us in the first team. England International at various age levels. Regular in Chesterfield first team all season despite change of manager and numerous player signings. Last manager called him 'a leader'. Plays a beautifully weighted forward ball and plays with his head up. Sturdy physique and tackles hard.

Good luck to the lad. I'm sure we have people watching his development.

Those passing stats above tell a story. Quality and involvement, always in the game.

That Adams first goal v Spurs reminded me of the Brooks finish at Leeds. Quality.

Well done Reedy!

A great player. Time will tell whether his future is at the Blades or elsewhere, but he certainly has a good future in football!

I always liked him when I saw him play. The only negative for me was his size!. He is small and did seem to get knocked off the ball easily. I do think that under the guidance of wilder/knill and some work in the gym he could give us another option?. Kevin gage knows his stuff so don't think we'd go far wrong in keeping tabs on reed?. I M H O.

There was only one player I’d have wanted us to take from Chezzie today and he wasn’t theirs, Andy Kellett was by far the best player on the pitch but he’s on loan from Wigan, he’s got a great left peg on him.
Left sided midfielder
Nice
