This appears (I have not seen the game) to have been the first time in 21 PL games where we have been outplayed. Given where we have come from recently, how recent the Man City game was, how this set of players has in effect played every game this season, because we haven't got strong enough back-up players to rotate, that we went a goal down in 4 minutes, that we kept the World Champions down to 2 goals, I think we can leave the disappointment to the players and the staff. It is not a time to have a go at anybody. I am happy to watch the 2nd XI v Fylde, give the first team a rest for a few days (they will probably be mentally exhausted after facing Man City and Liverpool in 4 days), and trust them to come back strong to play West Ham.

Liverpool have hammered better teams than us this season.

Thought we looked leggy tonight and lacking in energy. Playing the same team week in week out has benefits but also drawbacks. The FA Cup week off has come at the right time for me. Get a couple of bodies in too and we’ll be fine.

Let‘s be right if we’d been told we’d only lose 2-0 to Citeh and Liverpool away this season we probably would have taken that. We don’t have to play them again so forget and move on.

Liverpool squad: £billion, Blades: £3.50 (ok I'm exaggerating!),
Liverpool take a 10 minutes flight to BL, Blades take the bus and train in Stanley Park,
Liverpool: European and World champion, Blades: first season in PL after spending years in pub leagues.....

It's all about perspective and they are miles ahead of us but have had one helluva head start!

Also, seems to be a fair number of "hardly-ever-post-on-here" people coming out of the wood work......

We just lost to arguably the best club team in the world, not Hull, Cardiff or Stoke.

FA cup next. Give the main lot a weeks rest. See if some of the fringe players can impress. Although that didn’t go to plan against Barnet.

we will be better next season when we play them.we could have played better than we did tonight and conseded more goals.
9 days off and we will beat west sham 4-0

From the very start United looked overawed by the whole occasion, never seen anything like it! It looked like they had lost before they started. It looked like the adrenaline was working against each player, every player looked heavy legged and wanted too much time on the ball and when they realised they didn’t have the time they reverted to booting the ball up field to nobody, that of course was down to Liverpool that’s why they are champions elect! Fleck was so disappointing he did nothing, Norwood just gave the ball away time after time after time, Lunny looked lost at times. United were second to every ball which made our play very scruffy and the forwards got no service from our midfield, we didn’t really get a sniff. Moose didn’t know if to come back and help our stay up front, thought Didzy did OK and controlled at times. The TV shot of CW on his haunches and his head in is hands, then shaking his head said it all! Liverpool are a class act but It was strange to see the Blades play so poorly. Think Wilders got some work to do to get them back on track?

Coach just stopped and Billy's nipped in the offie for some ale.

Sorted.

i dont blame wilder for being disappointed as to be beaten like that wasnt fun & he has very high standards. the led us to unprecedented success we have mainly of the last 45 years. but im pleased as i can be in defeat if i was "big 6" supporter then you can pick apart the faults. but fact us we are playing the toughest fixture in world football right now. 3 days after reigning premier league champions. this was always going to be a huge ask so 2-0 after a early goal when Leicester & Barcelona have come off alot worse recently. its ok as its not damaging confidence wise which would far worse

this liverpool side are incredible i said the stats at the top unbeaten in 37 now. nrw stats you have to go back to sept 2018 the last time they lost in any competition at anfield, be it Premier league, Champions League, League Cup, FA cup. 36 home games in all competitions is super impressive. won 30 drew 5 lost 1 (on 3rd Jan) in league 2019 calendar year. went from 3rd March to 20th October without dropping a point. i have doubts if they can be invincible because man city at ehithad will be very tough. but certainly have ability to match arsenal 49 unbeaten game run. so we were always going to struggle with our team

Anyone seen post match reaction from wilder? Any clips?

Was he pissed off with us or in awe of them? I’d assume a bit of both.
