Really hope Wilder's Stanley Park stunt doesn't turn out to be a Phil Brown moment.

Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live
If you're a Liverpool player now you'll be thinking just get through this half unscathed and prepare for the next game. This is like a training game now with Sheffield United frightened to lay a glove on Liverpool.
McManaman just said the exact same thing... whilst we havent been great that type of comment seems slightly disrespecful to me.

Need another striker who can finish how on earth did McBurnie miss that

A record number of completed passes by Liverpool.

That's a record you don't want really.

We haven't looked dangerous at all, Billy has looked most likely and he's only been on half an hour.

The stadium tour comment nailed it.

Shite.

The only positive is we haven't lost by more.

Liverpool just very very very good.. I’ll think they will dominate for the next five years

Hope Wilder is angry about that.

By and large, we were utter shite let's be reyt.

Obviously Man City away and Liverpool away, back-to-back, in the same week, was always going to be tough. But we really didn't do ourselves justice at all tonight.

Our worst performance of the season against the best team in the league and still only lost 2.0. Gotta take that.

I expected to lose but I didn’t expect a performance like that. Completely devoid of any passion, energy, aggression or composure.

We didn’t attempt to even lay a glove on them and showed zero composure I’m afraid.

Horrible performance against an excellent side. Completely destroyed.

I hated that performance. Genuinely, I thought it was gutless and I haven’t seen that for years. Of course, Liverpool are a generational freak of nature, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t put in one of the most limp-dick performances since Hull away a few years ago.

Makes the JOC/Lunny piece about playing at Anfield more annoying.

Cant really be annoyed with em tonite Liverpool were class,we did not play anything like what we can do until the last 5 minutes,so i am dissappointed in that respect.

We did look tired thruout until the last 5.

We should not lose confidence with those two losses what we have just had.

Play like that against West Ham and i will be fuming.

On reflection 2.0 away at the best teaming Europe isnt anything to get too upset about.

Disappointing we didnt at least get stuck into them but just as we have been saying how many teams.have had an 'off day ' against us this was the same in reverse. Although Steven's and Baldock we poor they were up against the 2 best full backs in the league. The strikers were up against the best centre half in Europe.

The defence did well but Norwood and Fleck were poor...just not.good enough against that calibre.of.opposition

Henderson was outstanding.

A weekend off will do us good and we go again in 9 days time

Thank god those two games are out the way.

Simply outclassed tonight. Our back three held their own but the midfield didn’t get into gear or create anything. Maybe we were too cautious. Can’t blame any of the front 4 that played. They didn’t get much to work with.

Tough game but that’s what we wanted to be a part of.

Sharp looked good, he might have played his way into the first XI vs West Ham

Not sure if this is on the right thread but I've just sat through watching the Blades turn in an abject performance. The midfield was so poor I thought Lundstrum must have been donating his wages to Liverpool supporters benefit fund. Norwood & Fleck were anonymous in a game that called for some backbone & the demonstration that someone had a pair of gonads! Why this trio were allowed to be on the pitch after half-time only Mr Wilder will know. An explanation is required!

It's on the right thread kid. You, however, are on a different fucking planet.

As I say, absolutely no problem with losing. However, I didn’t recognise that team. We weren’t just outclassed, we were out worked, out pressed, out run. The amount of space we gave them was ridiculous, and there was no effort to close players down, or hunt the ball in packs. Letting teams have it at the back, is tactically fine but Liverpool’s defence play so high up, we effectively weren’t pressing the ball until it was 40/50 yards from goal.

Stop for some beers on the coach home, we'll be reight.
