I don’t blame Evans and Carruthers one bit, it’s the people who brought them here and gave them a contract which was way beyond they deserved, maybe those people should get some of the flak?

Totally agree with your second paragraph though, Akin.
Is that not Wilder that's to blame for Carruthers?

My point is why have a go at two professional footballers who haven’t got a gun to the head of the contract negotiators, making them sign a 3 year contract? They’re just serving their contract out as no one can afford their wages for the standard of which they currently should be playing at.

At least with Carruthers the glass was always half-full.

Interesting question. Of course he takes responsibility, but the selection of suitable player targets is a team effort, with at least 3 people involved, and they all have to agree. In the same way that CW shouldn't get all the credit when it comes off, he shouldn't get all the stick when it doesn't.
He still will though, all the same 😀

I think I’ll let this one slide for now to be honest. But lose to Bournemouth and Palace, and this shall be another stick I will beat him with. These things don’t go unnoticed.

No worries, I just wanted you to make an informed decision when you slag him 😉

Surprising that no-one in the championship fancies clarke

If Wilder had signed Marlon King on a 4 year deal I would be able to forgive him and his recruitment council.

In fairness though I do remember at the time seeing 4 years for carruthers and 3 years for Clarke and thinking it was strange, but I think the policy at that time was sign them on lower wages for longer contracts. The issue with that is obviously we’ve outgrown them far quicker than expected.

I agree. It’s not like he was crap for Wigan last season is it?

Ner’mind. They’d rather sign some random foreigner who’s got 2 in 40 in the German 3rd division. Obviously a much better option.

FWIW now I hope we keep Leon around the place. He’s better then L1 and he’s a good influence on the lads coming in by all accounts.

So Leon is in limbo then? Shame because he still has a lot to offer. I guess now his destination is L1 on their deadline day, probably Rotherham.

I suspect 6th choice striker isn't going to work for Leon, he could have been our 5th choice last season and decided against it. As someone else says, Rotherham would be a good fit and he could make a major impact for them if he gets himself up for it

If he stays,Leon could do a job in that cup competition that gets overlooked by Prem clubs.
How many clubs in that league will have the funds and 'pull' to get LC interested?

Sunderland?
Rotherham?
Portsmouth, but they just got the poor mans Gareth Bale, that means Doncaster have got a vacancy and a few quid in bank.

If his legs have gone lets convert him to a marauding centre back might save us£10m

Donnie or Millers would be a great move for him.

From listening to Wilders post match interview yesterday, I suspect he is one of the players who is going to hang around and take his pay cheque.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes this years pay and then retires.
