There was a time to sign him but we've gone past that now.

True, but if we were to sign a centre half and a forward of Clarke's ability then I would settle for that given we're only likely to bring in two players maximum.

Aside of the personality stuff which we as fans don't really know if he is trouble or not, then its a no brainer for me to sign him. There aren't many players, or any that I can think of, that would have the impact that Clarke will, that we can realistically get.
 
I have always thought he is the right type of striker for us, at this level, big, strong, still fast for his age, knows where the net is, very physical with defenders
 
Clarke is apparently ill overnight anyway! I'd still have him at our place, but he's probably going to stay anyway. He was available in the summer and I thought we should have gone for him then, but we signed Sammon!

Rather have Mcnulty back in all honesty.
 
Exactly the type of striker that would help get us out of this division, scores goals, good in the air and on the deck, always causes United problems whenever we've come up against him. Clarke, Hanson or Gregory would be excellent additions at this stage of the season.

I am going to guess it will be a two year deal with an option of a third year which he can activate. :)
 
I really do bloody hope not.

He hasn't even been scoring goals recently. And if he's not scoring goals then he's worthless.

I missed off that Mansfield CB Tafazoli, which of course is a position we need to be addressing
 
Clarke also looks to be heavily linked with Coventry on twitter (yeah I know, that may not mean anything). He previously played there and their fans seem quite keen. They also seem to be linked with Ryan Flynn.
 

Sponsors are not consulted about recruitment. Neither are players as a matter of fact. There will be lots of this in the days ahead.

Not difficult to guess the goalie and winger from Northampton is it?

Not suggesting for one moment that LYDON or his source are making it up and the latter may have "heard something" but it's not authoritative.

Don't get carried away by any rumours until confirmed by aspiring young journo Max or the doyen of them all, Magic Mike XXL.....
