Agree Loughers, I cannot see this happening for the exact same reason.
Suspect we will have to soldier on with the same squad - only adding prem fringe players in loan, as they will be the only ones available.
Whether such additions will make any difference with the formation we now play, only time will tell.

Not going to hold my breath, though.

.

Most likely make a 93 day loan to coincide with the JTW opening.
That would mean waiting another few weeks to move on loan.

93 days before 29th dec (our last match before New Year) is 27/09/2013

So theoretically, the Wolves game could be any players signed on that sort agreements first

If they weren't willing to accept a cash offer for either player in August, why on earth would they accept the offer of £0 now, but money in January?

Why would it be £0 now?

Wouldn't the cash have to be withheld until the window reopened? I'm aware that you can have loan fees, but thought that was only for half/full-season loans agreed when the window was open.

I'm fairly sure loan fees can apply on all loans and can be paid whenever

I'm sure if bypassing the window and buying a player this way were so simple you'd see it all the time, rather than all the activity being squeezed into the period of the window. Were it so simple then most clubs would just ignore the window this way, surely?

Apparently now handed in a transfer request at Coventry.

Maybe they would be more inclined to accept an offer now they look like they should be safe from relegation & he has said he wants to leave?

Why would he want to leave a team that isn't involved in a relegation battle in favour of one that is? I doubt we'd offer massive wages compared to them so it wouldn't make any sense for him.

Really? I thought they'd just agreed a fee for another forward and are now quickly trying to get rid of Doyle on loan somewhere. Seems odd to be signing yet another forward!

Wolves have just signed Dicko from Wigan - the guy who scored several on loan for Rovrum

Agree I would be amazed if he has put in a transfer request to force a move down the same division and into a relegation battle

If that's the case then all this talk of investment really is a load of rubbish.

I suddenly have this repetitive ringing of "FFP" in my ear. It must only apply to us.

True but also we may bid like we did in the summer but he may just not want to come to us.

Rotherham are doing OK or join us the relegation shit.

In Clough's interview this week to Radio Sheffield I thought he was quite clear that Clarke isn't a player he is at all interested in.

Perfectly valid point Bladesman. My only argument would be that he will go to which ever club offers him the most money. If you're a less attractive proposition due to league position then you have to outbid. Doesn't sound like us does it.

I didn't hear that. If that's the case then fair enough we can stop talking about it.

Makes you wonder why the local rag keeps linking him to us.

Probably because we have tried to sign him already in the summer and they are struggling to find out who we really are trying to sign.
