Just presuming but I reckon a bid was left on the table for Evans from Wigan, Norwood had been made available by Brighton, we've looked at that and thought "good player, improvement on Evo and Lunny", then made an offer to Brighton (maybe loan with view of making permanent), Brighton accept offer today, so we decide to accept offer for Evans. Unable to get one or the other done before the deadline or an uncertainty on whether we could definitely get Norwood in so pulled the plug on the Evans deal but now that's back on because Wigan will sign him on loan with view to make permanent and we'll be signing Oli Norwood on loan to perm to replace him.

There we're reports this morning of an unnamed club beating Hull and Leeds to Norwood's signature, again presume that will be us.

Looking on Twitter there was concern that Wigan have 5 loans already with Burn immediately rejoining. Apparently he has a broken foot and will be out for 2 months.

Only leaves them a couple of months to rotate 6 loans in 5 spots and if Burn is going anyway they don't exactly need to mollycoddle him.

Logically this ought to be a goer.

You never know with football clubs though, foot off the gas until the last day of August then mass panic would not come as any great surprise, but from our side if we are going to improve our team I'd rather sooner than later, wouldn't you?

Doing something about it would be to sign someone!

Play Evans with Fleck and Duffy/Woodburn and he’ll look a better player.

I’m not saying we should keep him at any cost, but as things stand we need him in the squad and he has potential to improve.
I suspect signing players is in Wilders plans over the next 3 weeks.

Hope we now have someone to replace him. Coutts is probably still weeks off returning due to sharpness and proper match fitness

Boss Chris Wilder commented: "When the offer came in Lee expressed an enthusiasm to leave so we decided to sanction the transfer."

I find this bizarre. Why would he show such desire to join Wigan? He's in our first team.

It's a bit concerning to be honest.

Good. I wasn't his biggest fan. Mr negative in his play, he made Jonny Gannon look positively brimming with attacking flair in comparison.

If he wanted out (as CW clearly states that he does), then cheerio lad. I for one am genuinely pleased.

Also on the bright side, no more Evans and Lundstram together....ever. Now that is worth celebrating with a beer or two later tonight :)

Where did CW say he wanted out please? Missed it

He was on loan there before from Wolves. He sees they have ambition and we dont. He likes their pies better.

Wilder Must feel that Leonard offers more and Coutts is nearly back. It’s not a big loss but it’s an outgoing with no sign of a replacement

I think all is not as well in the camp as people would have you believe.

Wanting to leave us after 6 months for a newly promoted club is a concerning sign.

This is only really good news if we have someone lined up to replace him considering he was considered a first choice player by Wilder in the first two games of the season.

If he feels that, then why has he consistently picked Evans ahead of Leonard? Just doesn’t add up.

Maybe he sees the writing on the wall for't Blades what with Wilder insisting on using Mr Lunny the leg waver in midfield.

From the official SUFC page:

"
Lee Evans has left Bramall Lane to join fellow Sky Bet Championship outfit Wigan Athletic.

United have agreed a loan until January with a permanent transfer to follow for the Wales international, who was on loan at the DW Stadium, prior to arriving at S2 from Wolves in January.

Boss Chris Wilder commented: "When the offer came in Lee expressed an enthusiasm to leave so we decided to sanction the transfer."

The 24-year-old has featured 21 times for the Blades and has started both games this season.

He scored two goals in his time a Blade, with those coming in the 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough at the Lane in April.

His fan base isn’t exactly massive here (warranted as he’s been shit and give the ball away loads) but I think he’s loved over there and it’s the same team he played with last year till Jan.

Very odd.

All I’m guessing is: ‘FEYT’.

P.S- I’m not even going to say GLTTL...fuck im...
