"[There was interest and he didn't shut it down] I'm not chucking the lad under the bus and I genuinely wish him all the best but it's easy to say 'no' isn't it. He wasn't pushed out of the door or anything and so, if you hear otherwise, it's bollocks."

Good enough for me.

Fear not. The Prodigal Son doth return by the month's end.

Upon which time, with him on the battle field, we shall reclaim our spot at the top of the division from whence he left us and it shall happen before the Christmas Trees are down.

Paul Coutts has no time for mid table mediocrity. Teams with him in them only finish top.

There it is

Perhaps if Coutts had adapted that attitude when he first came, we wouldn't have spent so long in Division One. Looking forward to seeing him back though.

Coutts always had it. You could tell. He lacked the players around him and stagnated because of that. Wilder transfer listing him was a shrewd and tactical boot up the arse. The rest is history. :)

Coutts on train to London with rest of team. Is he going to be a surprise selection tomorrow

Makes it sound like he was kidnapped and tied to a radiator in a cellar for seven months or something.

Maybe he had to share a room with Lunny and Lunny took a very long time in the shower?

Whatever has gone on there, who knows, but it seems this move is probably best for player and club.

Maybe he just saw Coutts in training and thought to himself my game time will be limited here when Coutts is fully fit. At Wigan he will be a starter for sure, closer to home everyone's a winner. My opinion of his time here is he too often took the easy option and played safe but then had horrendous periods in some games constantly giving the ball away. GLTTL

I disagree with you.

In that if this was to pan out, one of Norwood or Coutts would have to settle for a place on the bench.
It’s an unnecessary deployment of resources when we are paper thin up top.

We have 3 strikers.

1 is categorically NGE.

1 is Meh !!

1 is Good if played correctly. But is limited in certain other aspects.

We need both........Yes we need a finisher up front, but our slump has coincided with the absence of Coutts. Thus far, non of his replacements have not stepped up to the plate. I would love to see a midfielder at the club who had a modicum of potential to relegate Coutty to the bench

Seems like he wasn't very happy here if Sam Morsy's comment on Evans' Instagram is anything to go by...

He'll get an 'interesting' reception when he comes back with Wigan if any more shit like that leaks onto social media. Only a few ways to interpret that kind of comment, and neither are good.

He did a reasonable job for a time but by the sounds of it Chris made the right decision to let him go.

We'll just have to settle for Norwood and Coutts competing for his vacant spot. This sport can be so cruel to us supporters sometimes.
