I thought I had got the Khyber bit right... ffs.

Hold my hands up for Permanently..... school boy error.

What makes it worse is that I'm pointing it out when there's worse things to think about. Hit me Readhead. :D:confused:

This is just another example of United's incompetence in transfer dealings. I actually find it quite funny.

It is funny
But not as funny as Tony Philliskirk once going up for a header and ending up being four feet 6 inches tall after he'd jumped. The defender just watched him miss the ball and then headed it clear.
The eerie silence around the 9,000 or so at Bramall Lane in those days was broken by howls of laughter.
And people think Lee Evans might be a bit embarrassed to stick around

Presumably Evans was asked if he wanted to go and he said yes. CW has always said he doesn't want players who don't want to be at BL. Where does that leave everyone? Personally, would be disappointed to see him go. A good player in the making.

His morale probably won't be too high. Either Wilder was happy to sell him or he himself wanted to go. Hardly ideal when either you know the manager doesn't want you of or you yourself don't want to be here.

If all partires still want this surely it will happen, irrespective of what Giddings reported back. It surely makes sense if Evans fancies to move and we both agreed a fee, which presumably we did. Maybe United are waiting for another player in before we let him go but who knows, as we seemed prepared to let him go. As you say totally weird. I notice Wigan managed to sign Windass though!

He didn’t put a transfer request in and didn’t agree personal terms. What’s the issue?

Issue is that we potentially have an unhappy player because of;
A) he wanted to leave
B) wilder wanted him to leave
C) both of the above

No ideal that it didn't go through.

I’m fairly ambivalent to Evans. We’re reasonably well stocked in centre midfield and I think Duffy, Woodburn and (hopefully) King Coutts will come to the fore.

Bet he's playing Saturday though as CW always plays the best team apparently . This has been a riddiculous transfer window.

Did we want to get rid of him or did we get an offer we were happy to accept? There is a difference

He’s been in the starting lineup the last two games and I can’t imagine Wigan were in a position to offer much more than we paid for him. Why would we sell if we wanted to keep him.

This kind of bollocks can only happen at the Lane - it's like we're in the fucking twilight zone.
Millions of £ in our pocket , no permanents in , try & fail to do a permanent out for peanuts.
I hope RS interviewer has some good questions for Chris.
I'm only interested in hearing CW talk about Juanpi.

there was a time back in the 70's when I thought I was the only Wath Blade !

Hope there are a few more now?

They’ve just got £3.5m for Dan Burn, they could’ve offered more than we paid for Evans. As I say there’s a difference between actively looking to get rid and being happy to accept a certain offer for him.

Really. Well tell me what he adds then?

If he leaves tomorrow, who you picking? Who you going to play if/when Fleck picks up his next suspension? If Coutts breaks down on his come back?

Not saying he's outstanding, but until we bring in better players we can't be letting players go.

He's a 6/10 performer with an occasional 7/10.

Giddings to Wilder.

Gidds > Why did the Evans to Wigan deal collapse

Chris > Lee did not want to leave simple as that,he likes it here, you can't force a player to go.

Gidds > Does he still figure in your plans going forward.

Chris > Yes his name will be one of the first on the team sheet on Sat.

Alan Nixon tweeted Evans deal is back on and we have replacement lined up

Can someone please translate!

They've got garner now as well, that's him grigg and Vaughan, that leaves devante Cole as 4th choice. If CW still fancies him.

I thought we looked infinitely better with a midfield 3 of Fleck, Basham and Leonard on Tuesday, albeit the game was gone by that point. It's a solid set up but allows Fleck to do his think and link up with Duffy and the front men. The Evans/Lundstrum combo just didn't allow that because neither can tackle or anchor the play well enough. We can function with one of them in there, but not both.

That being said if I had to choose I would sell Lunny before Evans, because Lee does like a shot from distance and takes a half decent corner, most of the time.

Whether you like him or not it seems odd to swap a first teamer out for a replacement and not just get the replacement and put the first-teamer on the bench.

I am slightly baffled by all this, we only recruited

That game was completely over when those three were playing. You’d learn more from a pre-season friendly than a game where boro completely took their foot off the gas

Yes I did say that but you are right to stress the point. Stand by the point that only one of Lunny or Evans is needed in midfield though. Put a tackler in there with them or preferably Fleck and Duffy, which we know works.

I'd find this bizarre because clearly Wilder prefers Evans to Lundstram. He's above him in the pecking order. We also haven't even seen him play in our best midfield line up this season, with Duffy in front.

I assume Wigan offered a decent fee, and that we have one coming in on loan - seemingly Oliver Norwood.

Wheres the link yo Norwood Ricky?

Thought he was now linked with Hull?

I always said I wanted a new midfielder and looking at Norwood in more detail he would help. Coutts isn’t going to be anywhere near couttsy levels till next year
