Kyle Walker

Lots of crap talked from Kyle regarding us.

If he had his head screwed on properly he would have joined us when we got promoted last time. He had already accomplished everything at City.
When considering career moves, are you a person attracted to opportunities that pay less?

It was probably less about money and more about not leaving the Champions of Europe to join an all-time bad Premier League team. Not that we would've even tried to sign him then, considering that we threw in the towel before the season even began.

Only reason I can think of to sign for Burnley is that he wants to still play Premier League football in the hope he’ll make the World Cup squad.

Just seems really odd, if he’s not going to get a top club in England, surely he’d go abroad or sign for United? His choices in his personal life will have cost him a few quid, but I can’t imagine he really needs the money.

This time a year ago he was still Man City's first choice RB.
Now he is off to Burnley?

You'd have to say that this dream of his to play again for us has sailed.

Like others have said, there were murmurs in 2023. That was the time. Heck last January would have been. But he needs the money sadly so whatever his heart says his head is saying different.

He really doesn’t need the money if google is correct, he has a net worth of £27m!

Not sure what Kyle is gaining from this move apart from the best pay cheque he could get. Burnley going down is nailed on and his England career is probably over.

If his dream was to finish his career at the Lane this was the perfect time (unless Selles didn't want him?)

If he ever says he wants to play for us again that will be absolute disrespect. Pathetic move to a non club and I hope he gets battered weekly. I will be absolutely gutted if we were to one day sign him, but deep down I know he will

At least he's not coming here, pace was his main attribute but he's absolutely finished physically and was woeful for Man City last season. Should have gone abroad where he wouldn't get exposed every week as he'll be a total liability in the PL unless he can reinvent himself as a different kind of player.
Oh dear...do catch up

He wants to play for England in the World Cup. The only way that happens is if he plays for a top European club or in the Premier League.

And people wonder why he'd take a huge drop in wages and given up his international career to play for us?

Because he's a Blade? Are you giving up your job to work in the ticket office if we're struggling for staff?

People need to stop believing people in football who loudly talk about how big a Blade they are. Same with people who tell you how amazing they are. It's usually bollocks.

He’s said numerous times that he wants to hit 100 England caps. He's on 96 currently

Realistically he can still get those 4 games but he needs to be playing at the top level

I don’t see anything wrong with that. I think he still ends his career with us

I can understand the England reasons for staying in the Premier League, but unfortunately being at Burnley will likely end his England career anyway.

Any return to us would have novelty and nostalgic value only now. We need young, fit, hungry players - though not hungry in the Moose, Gus sense.

If he was going to sign for us out of ‘love for the club’ it would be now rather than signing for a team with a strong chance of being relegated. He’s all about the money that’s pretty obvious

Yes I’m sure Kyle Walker is going to really struggle financially if he took a lesser paid contract.
I’m guessing KW sees it as a relatively short career and is motivated by maximising his earnings, but hey, what do I know?
